the data transported from other dataware house sounds a costly solution. while the snapshot one shall be more efficient way. giving a recent database along with binlog/states data, but as it restored in a sequential way, that might also take sometime in the meanwhile better have some practices. it is however, a better plan B and also lower cost in terms of full data transport.

while, as a rule of online systems, I would suggest there is contingency plan ahead next time when you guys have significant roll outs. especially the data part which is more difficult.
