BAD LOOT? PLEASE READ!!!

Could be a seed thing like Delve. For example, I haven't seen a chaos orb in days, which is ridiculous. It's like once I started farming tier 15s they stopped dropping

Just to clarify—when I said “raining uniques” and that loot is in a good place, I was specifically referring to the campaign. I can’t speak in depth about endgame maps yet, but based on the number of reports like yours, it does sound like there might be issues—especially with pinnacle bosses dropping sweet nothing.

That said, it’s important we differentiate between campaign and endgame when we talk loot. Campaign is in a fine place. If you’re not finding decent gear or crafting upgrades during the campaign, then you doing it wrong.

I noticed that I am getting considerably better loot from Expedition than in 1.0. I think they stealth buffed the loot rate from it. I even got Deepest Tower helmet to drop today, THE helmet I wanted! It's worth about 4-5 divs. Otherwise yes, the loot is quite scarce. I can't seem to get high level spirit gems to drop which is annoying

100% there was stealth buff. Iv gone from occasional uniques to wearing several in HCSSF.

I am EXACTLY the same mate UNIQUES RAINING DOWN IN A THUNDERSTORM since the patch. How dis you get that scroll thing to give the count?

It's a microtransaction under accessories, there's also one for tracking all the pinnacles you've killed (none yet so didn't post) and all the gold you've gathered!

Greetings fellow HCSSFer and campaign enjoyer.
Glad to hear you’re liking the game! With time, experience, and a few little tricks- conveniently presented here…

Omg thank you for this post!

This is exactly how I've been playing and the only trouble I had on my huntress were act 2 titan (unparriable) and Jamanra which I got through by actually adding sockets (I was determined not to use them until I hit an actual wall so I would have some saved up).

This was brought up during the Zizaran interview—GGG actually pointed out that even a top-tier player like Ziz was unintentionally hamstringing himself with poor currency management. Naturally, that led to complaints about drop rates when it was really just about how resources were being used.

I really thought it was known that gambling was the worst way to get gear. At least that's what I've seen on the campaign codex speedrunning discord where people are saying that it's the absolute last resort.

Buying from the shops on level up though is probably THE best way to get gear and that wasn't mentioned in the interview at all.

If you have a good regex for the shop during campaign it makes your life waaaay better. There's even a tool for that online that builds it for you: https://poe2.re/vendor

Hey man, HCSSF enjoyer here. I’ve had no issues with loot, and I even made a post with screenshots after Zizaran’s interview here:

https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3756095

In fact, since the latest patch, it’s literally been raining uniques. I suspect a sneaky undocumented patch.

This is all in the campaign, which is the focus of this reply.

Could you clarify if you're referring to endgame loot? My experience is mostly in the campaign, so my initial comment may not fully apply when talking about endgame loot, which, from the feedback I’ve seen, seems to be an area that really needs attention (especially with pinnacle bosses dropping very little).

We just don’t want the campaign to get buffed with extra loot when it doesn’t really need it. We need to be specific about where the changes should occur.

Also, keep in mind this is SSF with extensive hours logged, so we’re not just talking about RNG here.

That last sentence is all I needed to hear. Multiple characters should net you plentiful currency, but that's not really the case right now. And you only posted your gear, and not your currency stash tab. Entire reply = ignored.

Also, on my 1st character, I had to buy the best weapon I could for my level in order to beat Act 2 Normal Jamanra. We should NEVER have to do that.

First link had currency. It appears you struggled to comprehend the post so to make it nice and easy for you, here’s a direct link ;)

It’s pretty clear from your tone that you’re not interested in actual discussion or constructive dialogue. You seem overly attached to your take and more focused on chasing shinies than contributing to a better game.

Honestly, this is starting to feel like The Parable of the Tiger and the Donkey. So I’ll bow out here—my point’s already been made.

Just in case you arent the read-widely type, as evident from the comprehension of my post; here is a link explaining the parable:

Give it a read ;)

Issue #1: Frequency

take PoE2:
level from 1-50 and count the amount of times you picked up something (from ground from trader, fram crafting) and then put it on your character to make it better.

take a different ARPG
level from 1-50 and count the amount of times you picked up something (from ground from trader, fram crafting) and then put it on your character to make it better.

==============

Issue #2: Range
The top end of damage an item can have is plenty, regardless of level 1 or 50.
The low end of damage an item can have to too low. We do not need the ceiling to be nerfed or buffed, we need the base to be brought up.

==============

Issue #3: Number of affixes.
Again, not in the endgame, just look at 1-50 and the amount of useless affixes which will do nothing to make a meaningful difference on either offense or defense.

=============

Issue #4: Hedge only one bet
Keeping up with loot to bring up one skill to the level that it performs against bosses is hard enough. Meaningful skillbased gamplay in which you swap between skills which best suit certain enemy types requires having access to a range of options.

=============

Issue #5: currency value
Even during leveling from 1-50, crafting currency is best spent not on crafting but on buying at the trading post. THroughout the game, crafting power of currency is far behind purchasing power of currency. Players at the top get such ridiculously high amounts of currency that they can afford to gamble for those 1:1.000.000 items.This will create a flood of 1:10.000 items a player can pick up for little to no currency. Enough to clear most endgame and yet you would never have enough currency to gamble for such an item as a normal player.

=============

Issue #6: Oddball Legendaries
as a player you expect Legendary items to be as good as yellow items and then some. PoE legendaries traditionally had a good upside, but usually came with the downside of being utterly pointless when it came to their other stats. Usually, Legendaries punch a hole into your resistances, shield or health which you need to compensate by getting even better items in other slots. So unless you can afford to take the hit, the legendary will not help you. Upgrading your yellow items with legendary affixes chosen at random (or not) would be the better choice, even if you keep tight requirements on which base can get which legendary effect.

=============

Again, I would point out once more that none of these six point is anything that should be looked at under the lense of Map-Tier 17 power farming. These are all points of contention during the campaign and before you hit level 50 or 60 even.

You mean you don't. Unfortunately for you campaign loot is the least significant loot in the game, and increasing it only improves the experience for the hyper-vast majority of players.

Yes, I know you have 550 hours in HCSSF. Neat.

This pertains strictly to the campaign.
Engame is a different story.

But if you are new or NOT GETTING LOOT good enough to clear the campaign comfortably then read this:

Been going to act 1 and loot is horrible. already quit playing a few times and im kinda done with it.
The game feel so tedious, slow wich make the game boring.
every white mob takes to long to kill and im like zzz boring.
bosses 1 tap you due to the lack of gear and currency dropping.

fix it or else see this game die brutally.
people wont be playing this bad gamedesign.
I'm going to split my post into two parts. First is the loot experience when it comes to the campaign and second, is the loot experience when it comes to maps/end-game (I've ran up to T6 maps for the time being).

~CAMPAIGN EXPERIENCE~

My feelings in regards to the loot drops through the campaign have been positive, for the most part. I had one particular anomaly through the beginning of my character's campaign.

For instance, I started an SSF Huntress in 0.2 and prior to Freythorn (Act I), I've had one Exalted Orb drop (alongside some Rare Gear from bosses).

Once I got to Freythorn however, I had 4 Exalted Orbs drop (4, I kid you not) in a SINGLE INSTANCE of that particular zone before killing the boss of the area. This hasn't even happened in any of the maps I've ran so far in the end-game.

Rest of the campaign, I had the occasional Exalted Orbs drop, some Regals here and there, maybe an Alchemy or two, nothing too crazy or too little. I could somewhat comfortably change gear if I got into a situation where I struggled.

What I really struggled with however, was getting a good weapon upgrade in Act 3 Cruel to give me some much needed damage boost.

Other than that particular instance however, through salvaging, disenchanting rare drops and maybe gambling for rings/amulets (very rarely), I could easily upgrade my gear. Whether that was fully upgrading a white base item all the way to rare through all the currency OR straight up purchasing items through vendors.

Sure, there were maybe a few fail slams/rolls on some of the items but nonetheless, I didn't really struggle with the loot OTHER than getting a good weapon in Act 3 Cruel.

Maybe a very minor boost to Exalted Orbs, alongside Regals could potentially help? As a failsafe measure mostly for scenarios where you might roll Light Radius with that Exalted Orb/Regal you just slammed into your gear.

Anyways, overall, my personal loot experience through the campaign has been fine. I didn't even go out of my way to intentionally full-clear or explore the zones/maps for more loot.

~MAPS - ENDGAME EXPERIENCE (UP TO T6 SO FAR)~

First few maps that I ran (Blue T1s/T2s/T3s with the occasional Rare 4-5 Modifiers) have been a little bit on the underwhelming side of things when it comes to loot. On average, I'd drop one Exalted Orb per map.

Lots of rare items, lots of Uniques as well (compared to 0.1), so at the very least, I can easily Regal a bunch of White Bases should they hit good modifiers with Transmutes/Augmentations.

In terms of Increase to Rarity, I'm running with around ~20% Increase to Rarity, alongside a Rarity Increase charm.

I haven't seen a single Divine Orb yet in maps. (oddly enough, I dropped my first Divine Orb in Act 3 Cruel)

What I'm really lacking though, are Vaal Orbs. It feels like their drop rate is gutted compared to 0.1. Which is a shame since I want to use them on the Essences and well... I've used them all up. I think I've had 6-7 Vaals drop in total since Act 1 all the way to T6 Maps.

Also, I will also mention that Expedition drop rates seem indeed kinda buffed. I've had quite a few generous currency drops of Exalted Orbs/Chaos/Alchemy thanks to Expeditions.

This is my currency stash so far. (I've been slamming Exalts on anything that I consider upgrade-worthy)

So... Yeah. This has been my experience so far. At the very least, I know that I will stumble upon Exalted Orbs to keep on potentially crafting more items and progress further so it's not as bad in my opinion as some people make it out to be.

Then again, I just got to running T6s with low rarity increases so far, so I don't know how things are on the higher-end of the maps. No Ring of Pilfering to keep an accurate track of the drops but I can somewhat gauge on average how much I'm dropping.

MINOR EDIT:

This is all the uniques I've dropped since the beginning of this character.
