BAD LOOT? PLEASE READ!!!

I noticed that I am getting considerably better loot from Expedition than in 1.0. I think they stealth buffed the loot rate from it. I even got Deepest Tower helmet to drop today, THE helmet I wanted! It's worth about 4-5 divs. Otherwise yes, the loot is quite scarce. I can't seem to get high level spirit gems to drop which is annoying

Not bad for you anymore since you're WAY past the campaign. I haven't even finished Act 3 Normal yet on my (real) 1st character, but that's completely my fault. lol But still, drop rates in general are bad in the campaign.

Could you clarify if you're referring to endgame loot? My experience is mostly in the campaign, so my initial comment may not fully apply when talking about endgame loot, which, from the feedback I’ve seen, seems to be an area that really needs attention (especially with pinnacle bosses dropping very little).

We just don’t want the campaign to get buffed with extra loot when it doesn’t really need it. We need to be specific about where the changes should occur.

Also, keep in mind this is SSF with extensive hours logged, so we’re not just talking about RNG here.


That last sentence is all I needed to hear. Multiple characters should net you plentiful currency, but that's not really the case right now. And you only posted your gear, and not your currency stash tab. Entire reply = ignored.

Also, on my 1st character, I had to buy the best weapon I could for my level in order to beat Act 2 Normal Jamanra. We should NEVER have to do that.

I'm a campaign enjoyer (hc ssf makes that a lot easier to say).

I do think we need better loot in campaign. what is not adding up right now for me is that, it seems they want the campaign to be a big part of the game, but they don't give much upgrade currency in the campaign.


in 0.1 when I got to maps I was kind of overwhelmed with the amount of loot, currency, as compared to the campaign run.

and now on HC SSF I'm trying to grind campaign maps for safer gear and it's a *little* too grindy TBH, but just a little.

I spent about 20 hours in Act II before I felt really comfortable advancing to Act III. part of that is just being newer to the game, boss mechanics, overall damage mechanics in general. so I'm also learning as I go not just waiting on RNG to bless me.

but yeah, certainly some better access to currency in the campaign should be addressed, considering the RNG-based crafting.

right now they are really letting people stay gear-locked until endgame and apparently even after that, though IDK how much of that is just bad luck/poor planning/general unrealistic complaining.
Maybe I'm just lucky but I feel like I've been getting better loot in 0.2, especially considering that I haven't gotten to tier 15 maps immediately (which is great!).

…you’ll find yourself swimming in currency and fully geared (yellows, sockets, and all) by early Act 3. I'm not sure how people are struggling that hard in the campaign unless they're mismanaging resources, so I’ve been trying to share useful tips whenever I can.

Oh and just so you know it works, here is a post from a guy who hit a wall, followed the advice and smashed it first try! By the sounds of OP he probably could use some advice on the Jamanra fight, but I suspect hes a little proud because allegedly he knows it all already.

This was brought up during the Zizaran interview—GGG actually pointed out that even a top-tier player like Ziz was unintentionally hamstringing himself with poor currency management. Naturally, that led to complaints about drop rates when it was really just about how resources were being used.

P.S. I take no responsibility if the aforementioned tips end up trivializing some boss fights. That one’s on GGG. 😅

I am EXACTLY the same mate UNIQUES RAINING DOWN IN A THUNDERSTORM since the patch. How dis you get that scroll thing to give the count?
loot sucks.
I am running 104% rarity, popped a 145% rarity waystone into a map node that had a 45% buff on it. opened a 120% rolled Researchers strongbox and it gave me 3 orb of augmentations. that whole map dropped 1 exalted orb.

if i run normal maps with no magic find on them i seem to get an exalt or 2.
