theses nodes are not accurate in re to what they say vs what they give

IE
I take +15% evasion node, then i go look at my character page and i expect to see my evasion go up from 64% to 79%, but it goes up to 65%

STOP LYING about what these nodes do.

Instead redo the tool tips to give exactly what you are going to see on your character sheet.

the reality is that 15% evasion is actually .0666% per point listed

the devs here adhere to the terrance howard school of mathematics

The node reads 15% increased evasion. That means it increases the evasion you already have by 15%. If you check the number when hovering over Evasion in your character sheet, it will go up by 15%. x1.15.

If it worked like you thought it did, there would be no need for gear and every character would be immortal through Evasion and Acrobatics.

This.

The "High Alert" wheel in the ranger/huntress starting area alone would give you 95% Evasion on full life, thus nothing else would be needed.

I understand that "increased/decreased" and "more/less" can be confusing for newer ppl, but then you don't have a comment like this:

it doenst matter.

the fact that 15% gives the equvalent of 1% is absurd.

jsut be trasnparent and list the tooltip as

increases X by .06% per point

its pure propaganda to tooltip it at 15%.

I think people would freak out if they saw .06%, which is hte real and true number.

The f**k you mean "it doesn't matter"? You said the devs are bad at math, do you not realise it's not going to equal that for every character? It's going to equal 15% of your total evasion.

I challenge you to show me where in the passive tree you have something giving you "15% Evasion". The confusion you have comes from the fact that you do not know the difference between Evasion and Evasion Rating.

There are places where it just says "increased evasion", in the "increased evasion from x" nodes. OP just doesn't know how it is calculated and is confused by the wording.

Pretty simple, every stat has a number, "increase" is additive to that number "more" is multiplicative to it.

Where it gets complicated in terms of defenses is how it functions with enemy level, damage, accuracy, etc. If he were here complaining about his EVR going down when his level went up, that would actually be a pretty valid question. The answer is because it's estimating monsters' values based on your level.

What doesn't matter? Mathematics or your understanding of it?

I would argue this thread is very much evidence that both of those things matter.
Murky and misleading tooltips in RPG's? Say it ain't so!

Unfortunately what other players are saying here is true. It may read like it's a lot, but the number that really counts doesn't move up by all that much.

The tool tip does exactly what is stated and gives you 15% increased evasion rating which in then run through some murky calculation to come up with your estimated chance to evade an attack, which can be further modified through various buffs or debuffs that the enemies have.
