Why not use bouns experience instead of penalty?
I see many people cry for death penalty,so why dev not concider use bouns instead of penalty?
Like cutdown base experience and if you finish a map that not died, you will get a stackable buff with max stack for exp gain, clear it when you died. It looks more positive than penalty. Dernière édition par qds19870725#5314, le 11 mars 2025 10:36:20 Dernier bump le 13 mars 2025 09:52:13

Yep I suggested this earlier.
I think it's a great idea. REWARD players for not dying in a map by accumulating an "embattled" bonus to Rarity and Experience for example from 1 to 15% ? I think another positive impact of this approach is to encourage slower play. I'm more willing to risk a sketchy map (Increased Monster Damage etc), by proceeding slowly, to not risk losing my "embattled" bonus. Whereas as it stands, I'm level 93 and proceeding cautiously with a more dangerous map is very disheartening because I seemingly gain nothing. I gain the same pity amount of experience because a few more mods on a rare Waystone don't increase my experience by a noticeable amount. So I am discouraged to play more cautiously and to just throw away bad maps and run easy maps. Better do 2x 2% exp than risk a 3% exp map. Better play mindlessly than carefully. OP's suggestion I think would also address that. Dernière édition par DeF46#3887, le 11 mars 2025 11:45:27

" Because GGG is stuck in the past missing the moment to retain new players. |

Because now you need to be good and play smart to reach 100. With no death penalty, everyone can reach 100, given enough time...

" That's the problem. Not everyone has time. Some mostly play on their free time with friends to take some steam off. They run maps to boost or hunt endgame bosses together. You must also consider that there are those who play for accomplishment like reaching 100, but if reaching that said level is too taxing they might drop out early and just call it quits. Don't get me wrong, death penalty is good in a way that it makes you cautious. I too, select my maps and modifiers based on what my character can handle if not running with friends and even more careful with animation, audio cues and ground effects during boss fights, but sometimes there are one shots you don't know where it came from and as someone posted in another thread we could use a combat log or death recap to let us know what really happend. Other than that I agree with previous a commenter about bonus xp if you complete certain maps without dying or whatever challenge it may present to your character or build. Something like a dynamic penalty and reward system. "No! I can't give up. I must my people" - Doryani Dernière édition par juansino#6005, le 11 mars 2025 17:36:52

With current politics of gaining the highest levels (~200 hrs for 98+ lvls) they really need to motivate people grind.
For example, adding more passive points for last 3 levels which are extremely hard to get: 98 lvl - 3 points 99 lvl - 5 points 100 lvl - 7 points Because even on 100 level you feel lack of passives to finish your build idea, you need to compromise everything. |

" People that say stuff like this just make me shake my head. This logically makes no sense. Bugs or cheap mechanics that are made to one shot you are not an expression of skill. You can quite literally reach 100 by just playing maps that are 10 levels below you. Might take a while but oh damn that was super skillful now wasn't it!!! Yall need to just stop with the weird ego push. What is wrong with reaching level 100? I have multiple characters in their 80's and 2 in their 90's. My Merc is level 96 with 64% towards 97 but guess what, i do not feel like i did anything rewarding at all because there is nothing challenging in this game to make it feel better. If there was content that had lvl 90 enemies i can GARUNTEE YOU no one would care that much for the death penalty. Saying you have to be good to reach lvl 100 is just completely false and proof of ignorance to that actual mechanics of the game and how you level up in the higher tier levels. The fact that they have an omen that makes it so you only lose 2.5% instead of 10% is proof enough to know that skill or being good is not a factor. |

" Whats wrong with not reaching level 100 ? Same guys would come and complain again that there is nothing else to do in the game lol Why does everybody has to get everything with the smallest amount of investments possible ? Can`t you enjoy a game otherwise ? Company is called GRINDING Gear Games btw. Not COME AND GET EVERYTHING YOU WANT WITHIN 15 MIN GAMES :D |

" That makes no sense for hardcore, you'd need a different solution. Having an experience penalty isn't a design flaw, it's just the cause of frustration. The actual fundamental issues are 95+ endgame grind is tedious and unfun 95+ leveling takes an obnoxious amount of time complete bullshit deaths (fix your game) |
