Expert mod - hardcore mod?
By unique I mean unique items, not unique monsters.

Aside from the aforementioned effects, I believe bleed bypasses energy shield if it somehow gets applied to you.

Currently CI also provides immunity to bleeding, as only damage dealt to life will contribute to bleeding.

I've carefully checked, and I'm not using any special unique items that can penetrate the energy shield. Expert

True. I just don't know whether or not something else can apply bleed regardless of that, that's why I mentioned it.

Logically speaking, I've encountered this situation of the energy shield being penetrated twice. Given the large number of players in the game and the long playing time, it's highly likely that you might have come across it as well. My friends, the players in the game group and I have all had similar experiences. There was even an electro - ball mage player who took the talent that allows mana to bear damage prior to life. In that case, the character's health dropped to zero before the mana reached zero. I've only heard about this latter situation; I haven't experienced it myself. But I've truly encountered the situation where my energy shield was penetrated and my health became zero twice.
Expert, I'm really confused about these occurrences and would greatly appreciate it if you could shed some light on them.
Could it be that no one has ever encountered this? It can't be!
So, is there any expert who has encountered a similar situation?
It's unlikely to be a bug.
If it was, A LOT of people would have encountered it and it would have been patched.

It's probably one of the already known interactions we know of, you're just having a hard time pinpointing what it is exactly (if it's too frequent)
I used to think this was a bug until i looked up what mob I was fighting against.

River Hag.

They have an ability that creates a water blob. If you stand in this water blob for 3 seconds your character will drown, draining your life to 0 while keeping your energy shield full.

The counter-play is to stay aware of your surroundings and never stand still for more than 1-2 seconds. If you see River Hags or watery blobs following you - kill them ASAP and don't stand still.

It's not frequent. I've only encountered it twice since the game launched. By the way, I think it's necessary to mention that both times I was killed by monsters piercing through my energy shield in maps where I used three Distilled Ires. That's the total number of times from the game's launch until now.

I'm well aware of this situation, but that's not what happened in my case. I was killed by this monster during the story - mission phase, but the subsequent incidents were not due to this reason.

Are you sure? After you first encounter them in the campaign you can also encounter them randomly in maps.
