Warrior in a nutshell... I believe im done.
" Once you have a baseline that's solid across the board, bringing things down to ensure balance is more useful. GGG's way would be like saying everyone is abusing ES and Evasion, so we're completely nerfing ES & Evasion, based on using both, so absolutely everyone is unhappy and being one-shot. Sure... the builds would be on par then, but that doesn't matter when everyone gets pissed and quits. That's largely what it boils down to. People are grumbling about getting destroyed and feeling like they can't effectively play... but GGG's focus is on the people that can play instead. First one, then the other. If they fix how other classes and builds feel, people will start seeing them as more viable - which will also help ease negative balancing. " This is were we differ or haven't quite hit where we agree. Players will always gravitate to the builds that have the fastest clear speeds. A large portion of players wont see those under performing skills as viable (even after finding a good baseline) unless they are as strong as the outliers. Inevitably, GGG will have to deal with "you nerfed me bro" complaints either way. Why not just rip the bandaid off now? |

The complete lack of life, lack of sustain, uselessness of armor, the counter intuitive balance of mob speed and speed debuffs for such a slow class, it's insanely frustrating where Warrior sits right now, and yet I haven't had this much fun in such a weighty, purposeful combat system since Lost Ark. Warrior/mace feels in every possible way what I like about big, slow, smashy smashy classes, but god damn I am made of tissue paper and have zero tools or counters to any kind of slow considering the "Wind Up" for things like Sunder and Rolling Slam are affected by chill and temporal bubble. This is death in a game where clear speed is king, frustratingly far too much like PoE1.
I'd posted a few weeks back my proposals here https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3699608 and hope GGG takes some of them seriously. I'd argue our biggest problem is our lack of tools, Warrior feels so half baked given the game's overall balance and combat interactions. Clearly overtuned mobs aside (like the quadrilla with the column that can one frame roll attack for nearly 3k health no damage mod T15 against 70% armor and still hit me with his slam ehild behind him), armor in and of itself is a horrendously bad defense. I heard there is apparently an Overwhelm mechanic that ignores armor, too? Like... Fucking why!!?!?!?!? Either I should be at 8k life at this level of investment if this is their "working as intended" or they still have no clue how to balance a damn thing. |

" Well we have monsters with break armour on hit affix. SO there is that. You can have quadrillion armour but it would mean shit if you encounter such a mob. | |
Simply look at the title of this thread.
Jumping straight to something like a spark nerf does absolutely nothing to address the feedback the other players are leaving. Once players start getting frustrated and leaving, the only thing you accomplish by targeting others first is increasing the number that are frustrated. None of the underlying causes of that frustration is addressed, because it is separate from the target of the nerf, and remains unaddressed. Melee players aren't frustrated because spark players are having fun. It's because playing melee sucks. It will continue to suck until the reasons for it sucking are acknowledged and addressed. Spark has nothing to do with it, and knocking it down a peg doesn't help anyone else that's frustrated be less frustrated in any way. If anything, it sets the tone that The Suck™ you are experiencing is intended to be the default experience, and therefore your thoughts on just quitting were the right call. |

" If the game had just Warriors and no other classes, would they still be bad, or are they only bad in comparison? Dernière édition par mikeab79#3627, le 10 févr. 2025 15:27:05

It would still be pretty bad because it's hard to get enough life for pinnacle content in hardcore or SSF. So it would take too long.

" In PoE1 i could facetank most bosses. What we got in PoE2 is much, much worse, even though we were promised the opposite. |

I reply on every warrior post I see because it hurts me so much too - you're right about the ES (second post) you can literally tank anything, the only "warrior" i had who was super tanky was an energy shield warrior wearing a slip on night-shirt, how does that make sense? No damage because all points went into ES/def. The second tankiest was a Gemling, he's a fkn merc, how do they have 4000 more hp than a warrior? They've ruined the class somehow worse than Poe1 where it's still bad, but can make a much more nimble and tankier bro with Jugg or much better dps with zerker... titan and warbringer, really maybe 1 decent passive node in each ascendency the others are trash.
All my 90+ chars destroy shit solo maps or in group maps. Warrior solo is fun but slow but you get to hit stuff, in a group you do _nothing_ because it's all dead by the time you move due to delay on stampede, leap slam and hammer of the gods. You work with a .6 attack time or longer they all have .1 .2 so insta deads~ Rude af. Not a skill issue. Game dev issue. Ps I have a spark guy, a dead eye zap zap, 2 invokers (cos its so easy to level) a gem and a witch hunter. I'm not mad others are destroying the game I am mad because for some reason warrior can only slowly and clunkily progress and do anything at a 1/10th of the speed everyone else can, why? No reason. " Yes, it would still be bad - and in all honesty GGG would probably barely have a player base left. I would suppose, for argument's sake, that it would also have led to Warrior receiving far more attention, and thereby getting released better than it was. Though if this is the stance you take, you'd also have to acknowledge the point I made above, as it means it's getting less attention due to the focus on other classes and skills. Your argument is essentially on par with "if Nintendo hadn't saved the game industry, would ET still have been the worst game of all time?" Whether something better comes along doesn't change to quality of something else. |
