Warrior in a nutshell... I believe im done.

Dear GGG, you said you loved melee and to trust you guys. Well I don't. Constant one shots are not fine. Can't go past level 93. Every time I go ahead I encounter a monster that basicly destroys me. A few days ago i lost about 60% of exp due to an ridiculous deaths that were not my fault. You said the death penalty is there to gatekeep you from going further due to not having decent gear. I have Ingeniuity with good rolls, Mace that cost a lot of divs. etc. We know that armour is basicly shite at the moment, so i tried my luck with ES and Shield. No luck. It is so not fun to play a class and have most affixes punish melee users. Temporal buble that slow down even more ridiculous long windups for mace skills. Who thought that "prevents regen above 50%" is a good option for a game where one attack can easily take out 90% of HP? Whos idea it was to give warriors movement penalty? And offer nothing in return? Why burning ground takes so much health despite having 130 fire res? Why even have resistances? I have about 130% of res for every element. Even chaos... and truth be told I dont feel like investments I made for my char makes any difference. And truth be told I do have a fairly good items. Not whale level but a lot of divs went into him. I do like hard games. It gives me great joy and satisfaction to overcome a challenge, but with warrior I feel like im being punished for playing a melee class. And that is not fun, nor challenging.

As a player who plays mainly with melee classes I feel left behind to rot. D4 bad is not looking that bad ATM with how barb is treated... :(

Just died on my HCSSF character yesterday from T15 Vaal Factory boss. Accidentially dodge rolled right into an intersection of 5 lightning beams. Entirely My fault though it's overtuned and feels more like pinnacle boss mechanic rather than a map boss (these beams have poor visibility and there are lots of intersections... then again, with 3k life every boss is a pinnacle boss).

BUT.

I can't shake off the feeling that if i was running a 15k ES build rather than a 3500 life build i wouldn't even notice it. More than that, if i was running a ranged build i would never be in any danger in the first place because these beams are much easier to avoid on a ranged build which also benefits from higher move speed.

Somehow they actually managed to make PoE2 melee much WORSE than it was in PoE1.

They know the Warrior is in a bad spot. Unfortunately, we can't have balance patches without players complaining. At this rate, we'll only get 2-3 balance patches in all of EA if we are only getting them on a "seasonal" basis. I fear we'll always have balance issue, as it seems to be the least concerning thing to not only the majority of players (who will complain about nerfs), but GGG as well.

Maybe you should look at the patch notes. There are only a few of them, shouldn't take long. If balance will come in the form of 1 or 2 changes per month, we're doomed.

The goal post was moved by complainers and GGG, not by me.

Post a link to the balance patch you are talking about. Not just one thing here and there over a 3 month period.

GGG wants to "balance" things, which means they want to nerf builds. If you actually read the section where they said that, it boils down to "we wanted to nerf some things that were more powerful than expected, but strangely the community wanted us to wait."

My last HC character was also killed in a fun way. There were two white mobs that generally don't do more than 5% of my health or so.

I'm not sure whether they chunked 30% in 4 hits in a a little under a second, or if it was the effects that fired from the rare that died 15 seconds previously. Ironically, just a few minutes before I'd been tanking boss hits.

Either way, dead is dead and I'm over 2.

OP makes great points, and it's not just on melee characters. On my ranged ones, those "can't recover + I'm the effin flash + every hit is a one shot" kind of stacks rush up in your face and will insta melt you. If this were just the end game, maybe it'd be understandable, but this kind of balancing starts at the start of the game. You're literally hit with all damage types by the second area and start getting one-shot without decent resists... but you don't have the drops or the gold to start stacking resists unless you've already got a character or two sourcing it.

Honestly it feels like someone played far too many roguelikes while writing the design documents.

... so basically what I said. GGG changed based on complainers.
