I think they should retire now, and abandon both POE 1 and POE 2, they are not in a position to maintain these two games at the previous level, it is better for them to enjoy the money they have earned and let those who know and want to make good games make them. Because apart from OP and some others, people do not want to play Poe-2, they want to play 3.26 of Poe-1. Poe-2 entertained me for a month, but it seems like another Diablo-3 to me, which I will not play again.
You are a minority, criticizing Poe 2's early access, of which I only know that 50/70% of 100% has been played and so far the 25% of 100% that is still missing has been known, seems ridiculous to me and even more so seeing that you are a player who has been playing Path of Exile for years.
Path of Exile 1 has been losing players for years, even if you don't want to accept it, if you want them to continue working on this game they must attract the attention of new players and Path of Exile 2 is the most suitable because it surpassed all similar games in graphic and technical quality to overcome enemies and the Poe 2 graphic engine is more stable being in a beta than Poe 1.
In Poe 2 it will not be as easy for you as in Poe 1 in which you advanced the content using a single key and with a blank mind.
It is like they say that children and teenagers today are raised in a certain way that if they do not get what they want, they quickly become hysterical.

Why do they need a Path of Exile 1 League if it's really only going to last a week with most players, then drop from 100% to 10/5% active players or less?
The way they make their money is by releasing leagues and players subsequently buying supporter packs. I don't have a source handy, but I recall Chris once saying the vast majority of their revenue comes in during that first week of each league. It doesn't matter so much whether players bail after the first few days, so long as they buy supporter packs and return for the next league (to buy another pack then).
POE 1 has a proven revenue stream, a group of players that buy packs every league. So yes, it's important to them to get a league out the door. They're currently riding off revenue from the EA key packs, but there's no guarantee that revenue will continue or be as reliable. If you'll notice the pattern in the forums, the majority of negative feedback on POE 2 EA is coming from players with a lot of icons, a lot of supporter packs to their name. A lot of the positive feedback (or at least the 'go away, go play poe 1 and let us have poe 2' types) is coming from folks with no packs to their name. (Which in itself is interesting since this is a paid EA). If I were a bean counter at GGG, I'd find that very concerning.
This is coming from someone who has thus far found POE 2 fun but pretty flawed. I'm looking forward to 0.2.0 and the improvements they'll make. But also want to see a POE 1 league again soon.
The question is for players who want Poe League 1 and are not interested in advancing and improving Poe 2.
Why do they need a Path of Exile League 1 if it's only going to last a week with the majority of players and then drop from 100% to 10/5% active players or less?
If the creators need money for their expenses and to keep improving Path of Exile 2, they will surely enable Poe League 1 and I'd rather they speed up the release of a Path of Exile League 2 than have a rushed Path of Exile League 1 in a short time because a minority bothers the creators.

Path of Exile 2 has had a successful early access launch, with over 1 million key redemptions2. This figure reflects the huge popularity of the game and the eagerness of players to try out the sequel.

Settlers had 78% retention after week 1, 63% retention after week 2
PoE 2 had 66% retention after 18 days. PoE 2's campaign takes longer to finish, so it should naturally have higher retention for the first 2-3 weeks, but this is barely the case

Irrelevant. PoE 2 is a new game and new games always attract more players upon release, and lose those players over time.
And PoE 2 numbers include Chinese players, while PoE 1 doesn't. PoE 1 has a separate server for China.

It's normal for that to happen in Path of Exile 2 because it doesn't have Leagues yet and the same thing happens in Poe 1 which has leagues and with a much steeper drop, not to mention that you're comparing an unfinished game that's a beta against a game that's already finished and loses players every year that passes.

But it's not "much steeper" at all, why do you keep repeating nonsense without providing any proof? It's a new fucking game, most people who're playing PoE 2 don't even know what a league is
PoE 1 isn't losing players over time, Settlers is the most recent league and it broke the concurrent player record for the game, how would that be possible if the game was losing players every year? Please stop being a moron.

Considering how easy it is to get exalts what makes you think POE2 leagues will be longer?
What makes you think they won't change something you mentioned about the first Path of Exile 2 League? It will have 8 times or more players than the maximum Path of Exile 1 had last year, so it will have more than double the active players of Path of Exile 1.
