🏚️ 💰 WE NEED AUCTION HOUSE NOT TRADES!!!

Agreed.

An auction house would improve game quality for many many players, as well as prevent scamming / price fixing on the trade site.

I am more frustrated with the state of trading in the game than I am with XP loss. I can understand a penalty for death (I played old school Everquest) but having players waste time and run the risk of being scammed to increase friction? Seems silly since we have a currency exchange that allows for instant sale of keys and various materials.

Buy now is bad, just one missclick and ur item is gone.

Trade System is fine, it's just annoying that some ppl dont respond, we just need a reputation system for that.

So let me get this straight. A buyout option, like one that's available in any modern multiplayer auction house, is bad. But a system somehow based on reputation from responsiveness to trades is a good idea? PoE players really are built different.

You know it sounds even more asinine when you say that shyt outloud.

Let me get this right. An auction house where players can "miss click" and buy something on accident is bad because.....of that thing I said. Okay got it.

However, spending 40 minutes asking 50 people "will you trade" for that 1 exalt boots nobody can be arsed answering because the two minutes it takes to trade, he lost 10 ex in farm time.... is the bestest trade system ever?

I heard these arguments from October 23 2013. The POE item search engine is great. However the POE 1 and 2 trade system is fking diabolical in every way, shape and form and always has been. Day 1 10/23/2013 "can we have an auction house pls GGG?". POE2 day one.......

You know why internet shopping is so popular and the high streets now lie empty? Not because it is cheaper, it isn't. Not because people hated driving, parking and walking 8 miles to find a scarf. NO, people have to deal with other people including thugs, bums, fking teenagers, slow af old arsers, singing crazy people.... We don't like dealing with 200 knobheads to purchase a pair if $6 sandals while getting robbed and an addiction to crack along the way. Now I click buy now and BOOM 2025 baby!!! No more BS and I got my sandals. Ain't no fker on earth has ever said "I miss the good old days of shopping" unless oc you're an Amazon delivery driver.

This ^^^^^ experience is identical the POE trade system. It takes longer to buy those mythical 1 ex boots than it does to literally shop for my weekly groceries in real life, I shyt you not.

If you believe the POE trade system is better the way it is, you are objectively and empirically wrong. This is not a trade simulator or stock exchange for currency sellers. You shouldn't need to download multiple 3rd party softwares putting your security at risk to trade for items on a bloody videogame. End of.

You know I can live with a miss click if it saves me from 40 minutes of "please be my fwend" messages any day of the millennia.
The problem I see with Auction house is Botting Auction Snipers. These hurt auction houses in almost any game out there. They can cause price inflation like crazy. They buy items at last second by beating another person by 1 currency. And it turns out to be the seller's second account buying it. There are two ways to prevent this is having a consignment fee or have good detection system for bots. The idea of a consignment is bad for honest traders though. Botting is spoiling way too many games.

"Auction House" is not literally an "Auction House" as it is in "World of Warcraft", it's just the term ppl use.

What ppl refer to is a "Market Place". Ppl list items for a set price, ppl buy-out set item, the end.

Still better than this. Im in my mid 30s and experienced auction houses as long as 15 years ago. No potential issue will be as bad as what we have now. I dont even properly engage. I reluctantly use trade properly when I'm buying but not when selling.

No way in he'll am I researching every item price before I sell. I guess and destroy if it doesn't sell. If your not a try hard this trade system is so inconvenient it makes it almost unusable. Ill take auction house bot any day.

Edit: i would also be extremely happy for an automatic item pricer. Even if it's similar to the alva currency trade.

I don’t care about some manifesto. This thread will be active until we get what all players want

Oh FO. There's a good reason why there's no AH. Go play diablo if you like it so much.

Good reason? Is that the bots, scammers, flippers and real money currency traders that don't happen using regulated marketplaces or "auction houses"?

"There's good reason" isn't good enough reasoning. Sometimes things Lack a reason as there is always reasons if you ask me. Didn't you know there is a good reason? Maybe there is a reason for that? Well now we will never no the reason.

Meme "because reasons" - Definition, see above.

no amount of explaining why auction houses are bad ever gets through to people who just want their way no matter how bad it is for the game.

That said, if they put in an SSF mode without dogshit trade drop rates and then put in "easy mode" and gave it an Auction house I could see supporting that. But I am pretty sure GGG wont do that.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.
