This isn’t the stroke the devs ego forum, it’s designed for feedback on the game. If you love it so much why are you even here? You clearly have no feedback and love everything about this game so leave. Nobody wants to have some argumentative shill telling them their feedback is wrong every two seconds.

It's part of a system, yes. They didn't just come up with the idea randomly. It serves a purpose and serves it well.
What is the purpose then ? What are the other parts of the system ?

Then leave pls if u think its so bad, and while ur at it pls leave forum too so we can put an end to your miserable endless rant.
Its EA ffs nothing is set in stone yet (except xp loss on death) and half the content is missing/not released. We are many that actually enjoy this game and ur so called "objective fact" is neither a fact nor very objective at all and definitely not constructive feedback. Its just and endless rant about core design features that every arpg veteran takes for granted and would be a massive step backwards if they were ever removed
Lol what arpg veteran enjoys exp loss? It's such an anti-fun mechanic. And its in no way a "core" mechanic, it can change any day and people would forget it was ever in the game. A simple toggle in the settings for it would fix all the issues people have with it.
And what kind of argument is "leave the game"? That's not very good for the game's future, which I care about. No, I'll give my valuable feedback on how I think the game can be improved, by deleting pointless death penalties or making them optional at least. This is what the feedback forum exists for.
And during EA nothing is set in stone, this is the best time for iteration and massive changes. Ofc many people will voice that they dislike exp loss. Hopefully GGG finally moves on and removes this clearly outdated mechanic nobody wants.

It's not part of anything. The only purpose it serves is to annoy players and make them quit. It's a complete net negative for the game lol

But that's exactly what it is, you are losing your progress towards the next level. You are not being pushed backwards, you can never lose a level that you have earned.
Systems like this exist for a reason, because games where it is quick and easy to achieve everything are games that are dead.
This is ignoring the time it takes to level those last levels...
It's multiple hours, towards a whole day.
Which means that you can very quickly rack up days of progress being lost due to getting oneshot by random shit.

Actually the 10% XP loss isn't that bad ( To me because of D2 Reasons).
But then again because I am a D2 Veteran, so when we loss XP on Softcore, it is not 10% . It is a lot more and the time to grind it back is horrendous. Maybe that's the reason why, I didn't feel much XP loss when I die.
I'm somewhere in the middle, as there's no recovery here, what's lost is lost and that's it.
For me personally, I'm not getting younger either, so I can't grind any more the same way I was grinding back then, I'd appreciate a little leniency for that :P.
Since it's an "one and done" situation here, I'd prefer a middle ground and just lose the xp gained during the map played for example, but that's it, don't touch the rest of my bar, if you please.
Point being, I'd be better with losing my "progress" without pushing me backwards though as well.
That's pretty much it though, it's an unfortunate steeper grind to do, but if that's what needs to happen, then it needs to happen...

Yup u can never loose a lvl nor can u cheese ur way to a higher lvl without having a build that can actually do the content without dying multiple maps in a row. So yes systems like this exists for a reason.

Nobody cares about any of that, lvl100 isn't some grand achievement. The average player just wants to have fun in a game without their time being wasted. Just make it optional, and if you enjoy losing your exp and time so much then go ahead and keep it enabled. The people who do not, can opt out and disable it. Everyone wins.
