Exp loss on death topics are getting out of hand.
" Spoiler: they will never fix the "balance" of this game. Know why? Because stuff like Archnemesis mods are in the game. Because this game has to resort to oneshotting the player to kill them since builds are so powerful. GGG will never can never perfectly balance this game, there will always be oneshots. They have never fixed that balance in PoE 1 and they won't be starting now, its impossible. This game is just way too fast with too many rng variables, so ofc people just want the pointless death penalties to go away. It's not our fault we died, its the game that's killing us with some random af combo of archnemesis mods that's 1 in 1000. In fact on-death effects and monster damage seem overtuned and way more common in this game, so clearly the devs want to add more of that in. That is their intention. This balance you hope for will never exist. So just delete death penalties so people can finally have fun in a videogame, and give Ruthless with all the punishments for the players who enjoy that for some reason. |

" They haven't fixed the one-shots in the 13 years PoE have existed. And to be frank, the issue of oneshots seems to be a issue with the fundamental nature of these kinds of ARPG when they have so many variables. In contrast to souls games or mmos which are much more constrained and controlled. The entire loot/skill dynamic makes it so that players will inevitably blow things up, the avenues of health recovery makes it so that weaker attacks are generally ignorable. Which leaves the actual threats to be oneshot mechanics, but then the game have so many variables and different things that it becomes night impossible to gauge which oneshot mechanic you're facing at all times. And again, you aren't reading the replies here. Ex-loss on death is not a core mechanic. It doesn't even exist at the lower levels and the game plays just fine down there without it. It's an accessory thing that people would forget even existed once it was removed. |

" I've also played for that long. And I'm here saying that exp and death penalties have no place in modern games. They are outdated, and should be abandoned in the early 2000s where they belong. A game that disrespects the player's time will die eventually. |

Please let's get rid of xp death penalty, I don't see why we would need this.
