[Feedback] Movement Speed on Boots is Mandatory, Make It Implicit

To improve itemization, every pair of boots should have movement speed as an implicit (as opposed to prefix). There are a lot of boots you can't use because they don't have movement speed, which is a mandatory stat. If a pair of boots drops with great stats, but no movement speed, it's vendor trash. Having implicit movement speed would make the early game feel less sluggish. Also, many unique boots are rendered unusable because they lack movement speed.

With that said, the implicit could spawn with escalating tiers based on item rarity as follows:

* Normal Boots: 5-10% Increased Movement Speed
* Magic Boots: 10-20% Increased Movement Speed
* Rare Boots: 20-35% Increased Movement Speed
* Unique Boots: 20-35% Increased Movement Speed

Just as charms were added as an implicit on belts, boots should receive the same treatment.

I've been thinking the same thing. :D
Completely agree. Some of the slower characters simply crawl.
This would be a huge QOL increase. Base movement is just waaaaaay too slow for a game with no real traversal skills. I'm not the POE 1 zoomer archetype, I'm okay with the game being slower but not THAT slow. Playing without 20+% speed boots is just not enjoyable.
Make the implicit a flat bonus (+x meters/second or whatever), and lower the roll range on bonuses to compensate so you end up in the same place at the top end.

+1 100% agree with this. I didn't understand the extent of how much the movement speed made a difference until I finally got a good boot roll that also had 20% move speed on it.

Having implicit 15-25% would solve a LOT of people's complaints about things like map size. It feels like the game was designed with the expectation you would have this 100% of the time.

Agreed, movement speed on boots is a MUST.
MS is a must in PoE1 Ruthless already.

However, the situation is very different there outside of items : between passives and the bandits quest reward, my latest bow-wielder there has so much + movement speed (nearing +100% ms), that I can even afford to use boots without any movement speed on them !

Last but not least, PoE2 also still has the issue of armours having hidden negative movement speed implicits :
[0.1.0] Armour equipment missing movement speed modifiers in their description

You realize poe 1 also had a MS debuff on wearing armor? This is why many people would run up to act 3-4 without wearing armor. This isn't new.
Step 1 is to self reflect.
This sounds like a great idea, it is very hard to consistantly good ms on boots due to how rares work.

It also is VERY important when thinking about boss design, a lot of them were made on the assumption that the player is wearing movespeed boots and as such things like Geonors slam are just a little too big.
