Trial of Ascendancy in this game FUCKING SUCK

unpopular opinion here - but I hated labs. somehow it did not click with me at all and it was a huge struggle each time.
I can not stress enough how much I hated it.

first time doing sekhema and chaos trial I was loosing my mind cause I thought it was way to hard (managed both on second try).
but once I actually understood how they work, it made click.

Now I farm both of them and even run them for guildies to get them ascension early on.
I do NOT run any of the insane overpowered meta builds. just one of the various mid minion master builds (not even srs version).
I think these trials are a case of game knowledge. knowing which items/debuffs to pick when. what works with ur build etc. how the traps work and so on.
First trial is definitely not so bad when minimaly prepared and documented on it.
Second trial (first Chaos) is already a lot more bothering because you need some luck of the draw on the modifiers.

Both 1st and 2nd trials would benefit for an ingame tutorial or a real explanation of the different mechanisms involved. We are left in the wild with absolutely zero information on what to do, how and what are the consequences.

Third and Fourth are pain in the ass because they are too long and there is no savepoint meaning you have to do and redo the very long build up everytime you want to face the boss.

Also: Trials are massively exploited by boosters and generate a lot of black market revenu. A lot of experienced player earn money with them and don't want them changed.
I agree, it was the worst choice they made, basically what everyone does and pay someone to do it because the fun of the game was lost by them, the poe1 trial is very fun, we have everything we basically need, sometimes you spend 40 minutes running and in the end you lose or you go to chaos and something bad happens, it's already game over if you die... terrible choices for such a beautiful game....

Sekhemas takes way too long. Pulling levers and touching crystals is fun for about 15 minutes, not an hour or more.


Honor is a pointless mechanic that adds nothing to the game.

There's no thought or interesting gameplay whatsoever when choosing rooms; you just choose rooms with the least amount of character bricking afflictions as possible.

I failed sekhemas 6 times in a row to get my 3rd ascendency point.... bad random, lost 1000 honor to a boss because of lag, another one was a disconnection.

I stopped playing because of that and I doubt I'll get back to poe2, it was all frustration after frustration for me.


I'll stick to poe1 and last epoch LOL
