[3.26] Ice Dancing God - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything

If your items are being destroyed, then you’re not using the Unpredictable mode. Predictable mode either combines the mods you chose onto the output item, or destroys both input items and gives no output. Unpredictable mode always produces an output item, but you have to play the odds (and game the system a bit to improve your chances).
I know your math about Icestorms says don't level Cast while Channeling above 15, but hear me out.

At a certain progression level (propably when you can afford the Heist Ring) your damage and Int will be high enough, that the loss of 1 or 2 Needles won't affect your Map-clearing at all.

If we then start to use Awakened Cast While Channeling lvl1, we gain Stun Immunity which will additionally frees up a Flask and gives us a Skillpoint.

Both which would allow us to get even more dmg/utility than the loss of that Needle.
@Necro -- don't we still need stun immunity for boss fights?
My experience with Bosses is that they are either very stationary and foreseeable, where the dmg of the selfcast Staff is so high that it doesn't really matter, or they are kinda agile and port around (Shaper/Eater/UberElder) that I rather want the Mapping Staff anyways, but your mind may vary.

Also in the past we actually used an Awakened CWC Staff for bossing.

Do we have any confirmation that Polymath is less effective if you use the Sanguimancer?

I'm going to try my farming with the fallen reverend instead and see how my ES behaves. Note my T16 packs are about 55% pack size.

----------

Interesting. My reverend died quickly as he was level 73. So I ran around with no zealotry and just discipline, for 13.2k ES. My ES barely budged, even though I would blink through huge packs. I.e., I felt far, far tankier. And not having the merc around meant the mobs had less health, so died about as fast even though they weren't exploding. Hmm. So maybe I can actually level up in juiced T16/16.5 maps now ...

This has been the case for a while and is a case of "Theortical" just being worse than practical.

Especially considering that while channelign you are moving any way so the amount of icicles hitting is far more random and dictated by where you go to and if you need to truly focus them you weapon swap anyway.
