Heist sound crash since update. No sound until game close Ps4
I want to add something odd to this thread. My wife and I play on two PS4 in the same room. Mine is on WiFi her's is on Ethernet.
Twice now, when we were in the same Lake instance, we hear a large *POP*. *Both* PS4 stopped outputting sound at the same time! I had to step away after the event and logged out and returned to the PS4 home screen. My sound returned. I killed PoE and restarted. All was well. Returned to my wife's Lake instance - all was well. She also logged out and sound returned when she hit the PS4 home screen. An app killed and restarted, all was well again. The odd part is the we both lost sound in the same Lake instance at the same time. There is coincidence... Seems too odd to not be a clue to this long standing bug. |

I went back to my Wild Striker and ran a Heist and it indeed broke the sound engine again at the second reward chest. Pretty much only and always breaks for me on opening a reward chest.
My Kalandra Deadeye (dealing only physical and chaos damage) having run between 15 and 20 Heists so far and having no problems brings me back to the theory of the shatter sound effect that GGG mentioned was problematic being at least one of the culprits. Maybe it keeps escalating resources when it shouldn't be and when a chest opening voice line is fired there is less resources available than the engine expects and it starts to read and try to play from non sound effect memory. Would love to debug this as it is so frustrating and if it hasn't been fixed inbetween the leagues, my hope for people getting time to look at it now is dwindling. :/ Bad timing in a league where Heist is a good way to offset lacking drops from the rest of the game. ... is not a troll

You guys really gotta do something about this it really cant be good to have that loud ass pop happening a few times an hour for our tvs. It sounds like if a speaker blew out every time. What kind of company just straight up ignores their customers like this anyway. Last we heard is "we cant seem to recreate it" i havent found one person in standard that runs any kind of end game content that this hasnt happened to multiple times.

On the topic of "we can't recreate it" it never happens on my Wander but at least in 50% of Heists with my Glacial Hammer build tk_Lakehammer. Just copy that character and run a few Heists, probably one is enough to witness it.
Since it affects people like me that have sound from PS4 per HDMI to an AV Receiver as well as someone with a PS5 and a Bluetooth Headset, the issue should be purely inside PoE. ... is not a troll

FYI, the sounds is still cut off even when you leave POE and go back to PS main menu. You have to fully close the game

This used to only happen during betrayal - now it happens during heist as well ever since the 3.19 patches.

This is happening a lot here on PS5, I dind't played last league so I really thought that was a console problem, coz all the sound from ps5 stops.
But now i saw this thead, and can't believe the problem is from months ago and GGG dind't fixed it yet. Really, they don't see the console's post on their own forum??? That have absolute no excuse to not get fixed. I tried turn on and off 3d audio, and a lot of differente settings, but the problem still happens, and it's from nowhere, sometimes even in "peacefull" areas. " It would most often happen in Heist when opening two reward room chests in quick succession. As of 3.19, it now also occurs when two Syndicate Intervention members attempt to give their opening line at the same time. Evidently, the issue is spreading. Ice Shot Deadeye 'till the day I die
