Character slots.

I am thankfull for the 22 character slots we got, but I am worried that it is to many.

The game is relaying on surviving trough micro transactions and I want the game to last as long as posible.

IMO we should only have about 6-7 character slots, and buy the rest.

Yeah I think 6 would be enough too, one for every class and who wants more should be able to buy them, so +1.

Wow I didn't realise it was so many from the get go, there is no chance of me ever using that many up. Really love how true you are staying to the ethical F2P model.

After watching TotalBiscuit's mailbox where he brought this up, I'm not surprised to see it on the forums. I think he may actually be right. Don't get me wrong, I love free things, but I'm not sure 20 free character slots is necessary. Half that is still plenty.

Really, one for each class would probably be considered "a lot."

24 slots. that is what you got. that is not to many. imagine your account like it was an account of league of legends or heroes of newearth, having many champions
in many leagues (legacy, default, hardcore, cutthroat).

imagine you want to start a game, whit a friend thats new to path, and you have only 4 slots? so what now?
you delete one to start a lvl 1 char?
or you play whit your lvl30 char whit your lvl 1 friend.


ggg made it clear, that the 24 slots are ok, and that for each char you play in your account, you could have microtransaction. this is very clever by ggg.
you think you are given to much from a free to play title, but you are mistaken. because this 24 f2p slots, makes it possible you enjoy the game, and you say, hey, i enjoyed playing my char on slot 18 so much, i want to spent some money on it. bam!

24 slots will make much more sense when the games goes live, characters won't ever be wiped again and you will have many different leagues to choose from.

Going to agree with OP here and say that 22-24 is a bit much. It's great that they are giving us so many free slots, but how many people are going to be willing to pay for extra spaces when you already have that many? For a game to survive on micro transactions there has to be most incentive to give them money.

I think 5-6 slots would be more reasonable to start with. It gives you a fair number of slots to use while also encouraging you to purchase a few more. I for one would never pay for an extra slot when I already have 20+ available regardless of how much I would like to support this game.

Nothing stopping people creating new accounts for extra character, I think 24 is just fine.

Who knows if this will be in live or is just beta. It could be GGG is giving us more leeway to experiment with different builds and characters so we can test the game as we should be. Either way, as was pointed out, since someone can just make another free account, artificially limiting to a low number of slots doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Things that add to the existing account may make more sense for monetization.

Should be dropped to 12 imo.
