How much money have you wasted/spent on PoE?
Hi All,
I'm really interested in how much everyone has spent in game, so I want to ask these five questions. Not sure if this has been asked before but I am genuinely interested. 1 - How much have you spent so far on the game? 2 - Do you think you've spent too much, too little or you're happy with what you've spent? 3 - Will you buy some/more points at a later date? 4 - Was what you bought worth the cost? 5 - What would you think if PoE started to provide pseudo game-changing purchasable content like complete respecs, chat/name badges or new map graphics? I hope to get some answers, I'm very interested in everyone's opinion on this. Path of Exile is reasonably unique on 'ethical' transactions, and are unique as far as an independent company doing so as their sole profit. I haven't seen this before on the forums. My answers:
Spoiler
1 - I've spent $60 on points.
2 - I'm very happy with what I've spent so far, it's what I consider the games worth at so far. 3 - If I'm still playing the game later, I may get more. 4 - Yes, stash tabs are amazing :D I also got that flamey thing for the head, looks cool. I want cool skill effects for gems I use :( 5 - No, I would absolutely hate this, but I would understand if they did this because being 'ethical' wasn't economically feasible. |

I was sucked in by all the hype that POE was giving D2 players what they have been asking for all along. I began my adventure and had a bit of fun. I thought it was new and exciting. I spent $20. Not long after that I quickly began to realize I was wrong and that POE is actually more like D3 than D2 or any of the other great ARPG's. Then they slapped a few patches our way that further rectified my feelings. POE is going downhill at an alarmingly fast rate.
TLDR: I spent $20. I wish I had it back to spend on beer. Catch on fire and watch the flames burn it. Wipe my arse with it. Anything except spend it on POE. |

1. 250 as Gold Supporter pack
2. I don't care (I'm not rich, but not overly attached to my money) 3. Doubt it, still have 900 points left to spend. Spent most of my points on stash tabs when they were useful for alchemy recipe. 4. Tabs were worth it back then, now they sit empty. A few colored tabs are usefull to keep things tidy, the 2 dance I got were fun for 30 seconds, and I don't even see the cosmetic I bought anymore. The kiwi is cool, when I think about taking him out for a spin. Nonetheless, I didn't spent $250 for the points/cosmetic, I spent it to help the game. 5. Complete re-spec? I would lose faith in GGG and rage since that P2W, and the sole reason I donated was because they said it wasn't gonna be. The other 2 are not p2w and wouldn't change anything, so I don't care. " 1 - Gold Supporter, $250. 2 - Good value, I'm at ~2k hours played thus far. Cheaper than 5-$50 games that last me <100 hours each. 3 - Probably will. 4 - Worth the cost? The game is free, I like the devs, I donated. Microtransactions are just gravy. 5 - I would quit in a heartbeat if this game went openly p2w. Paid respecs would be one such thing. I had my concerns about stash tabs in the past (when the name-matching recipe was orders of magnitude easier and gave better rewards), but the p2w-ness is now sitting right below my threshold of caring, especially with free accounts that have 4 stash tabs and 24 char slots each. An in-game mail system would remove all remaining concerns. |

" $20 is still much better finding out you're not so keen on most games. |

1. $115 = ~90 euros. 2. Couldn't afford more at the time. 3. Yes, definitely, as long as GGG keeps the cut-throat vision of the game and don't start catering to casuals. I'm in for the long run. 4. Absolutely, although I still haven't received my Supporter package :( 5. If it's anyway gameplay related, I would be disappointed that I got tricked by their marketing team. I paid for the hardcore feeling this game offers, that's the sole reason I opened up my wallet, and if they ever eat their words and start going for what the "majority masses" want, therefore making their promises null, I would probably quit the game and would never ever trust the company again, depending a bit on the level I think I got screwed. $20...
Got a frog. Got some stash Taht's about it. The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG
