[3.13]🏹 Poison Barrage-VF / Scourge Arrow / TR PF | Bottled Fortify | The Tankiest Ranger + High DPS

Can you help me understand why Vessel of Vinktar is useful for tankyness. I see that the reduced lightning damage can be very helpful, but taking 50% increased damage from everything is quite dangerous, is it not?

" We are shock immune under flask effect thanks to Master Alchemist. This negates any side effect of Vinktar, including 50% shocked, etc. Btw, it's 30% less lightning damage taken (assume +50% flask effect), not reduced. Poison Scourge Arrow/Toxic Rain + Blast Rain PF| Bottled Fortify:

" Honestly this isn't bad idea. Eeven if you calculate for dps. POB counts that 140% ailment duration from helm as if it was permanently up, which is a stretch, considering it is 4s out of 12s (so essentially uptime of 1/3). So if this mod on helm counts as +30% total dps, in reality it is 10%. Buffing uptime of it to to 50% could translate into 5% more damage (15% which is half of 30%). Just example numbers, in reality bonus is even greater. And that is just dps, not even counting fortify chest bonus which is so powerful defensively it makes you literally immortal. Too bad this belt will suck for str stacking, rare belt is too huge with 18% strength + 60 flat. As for alternate quality gem options, some ppl are indeed using Plague Bearer, alt quality with 0.5% reduced Chaos Damage taken while Incubating + enhance 22% reduced chaos damage taken all the time, downside is losing 20% poison damage initially once you turn it on at the beginning of the map. Problem is, if we sacrifice one 4L for enhance setup, we are running out of slots. We can use 3 gems. One will be movement (my choice smoke mine), then you want blood rage for frenzy charges generation on bosses, enhance more than doubles the chance to generate charges on hit, its massive boost. And then you have enduring cry to boost war cry spoeed. I guess enduring cry would be the best one to sacrifice there. Dernière édition par aerial#6615, le 3 oct. 2020 à 04:02:03

The Hyperboreas suggestion is definitely intended for non-STR stacking variants of the build. As a former Whispering Ice player (RIP lol), I know how much power is tied up in belts in terms of stats & corruptions.
With another few hours of red mapping handled, I'm still pretty happy with Hyper's performance. It kind of turns Focus into a Vaal Molten Shell style defensive ability, and with it layered on top of a charged-up Immortal Call I'm not sure there's much in the game that can kill you aside from really goof-troop stuff like Uber Atziri blasts. |

The Hyperboreas is indeed a very interesting choice. I wonder if it's still possible to get the reduced flask charges used veiled mod on it. Otherwise, we can take Arcane Chemistry to reduce flask charges use. In previous league, Focus was bind to my left mouse. I will try to see what is the convenient binding to use Focus in tandem with the smoke mine suggestion from aerial. It might be, although I'm not entirely sure. I just snagged one with a T1 hybrid Chaos Res roll. I'll keep messing around with it as I progress up to A8 Sirus and maybe some Heist stuff when it becomes less of a slog and see how it treats me. Credit where it's due: the idea came from a guy in my guild making a joke about someone finally using a Hyperboreas!

I just check the veiled mods for Hyperboreus. Unfortunately, there is no Reduced flask charges used. But there's increased flask effect mod (7-8%), so I guess it'd be neat to take the Hyperboreus with such mod to use in tandem with Arcane Chemistry.

Hot tip from Neabsera that really helped me with sirus A8- put anomalous IC on on left mouse click with second wind and increase duration. 3.5 second IC with 1.5 cd so about 75% uptime without having to think about it. Really let me relax at Sirus tank beams etc. Worked a lot better than cwdt for me.

" Before offering my thought, I'd like to friendly remind how our less damage taken defense works: ![]() (this screenshot taken from my video guide) As illustrated in the figure, the damage is mitigated, in this order, by: 1) Physical damage reduction (PDR) for physical damage; elemental/chaos resists for elemental/chaos damage. 2) Less damage taken (LDR), including sources of reduced damage taken. Divine Flesh is an easy and straightforward way to build up your defense against elemental damage. With DF, 50% of incoming elemental damage is taken as chaos damage. So, it's easy to increase your practical elemental resists to 80% with 85-90% chaos resist. This has two problems with our build: 1) It imposes a large opportunity cost that you need to sacrifice in order to obtain Divine Flesh and 85%+ chaos resist. That cost includes 400-500 life, attack speed, chaos dot multi (from the viridian jewel), and 2-3 gems slots. 2) Having DF doesn't improve the overal defense because we have high LDR, which is applied on top of resists. We effectively have around 65-70% less damage taken for each of the elemental damage with the addition of Vinktar, Dying Sun, and Taste of Hate, and even higher if factoring in Immortal Call. Therefore, further 5% elemental resist by the virtue of DF increase will not change the equation. It even reduces the elemental mitigation effectiveness when immortal call is up. Below is some stats taken from the build in previous league. ![]() Note: in Harvest, we could easily craft phys damage taken as elemental damage on many gears. I don't think it is the case for Heist, so the actial physical damage taken number will be reduced a bit for this league. People in previous comments have mentioned that with the alternate quality of withering touch a 4-link on mirage archer would probably be enough to sustain withered stacks. I was wondering what people would suggest to make the most use out of the now freed up 6-link?
