Overheating my video card?

Tried to run SpeedFan. when the noise started, i came from 1800 to 2250.
And i remember there being noise levels 1 or 2 times harder then that, so just logged out.

Removed second monitor, didnt help.
Yea I hope they can find out wtf is going on with some of us. Id hate to see peoples cards mess up because of it.
Wyvernic you were sage to stop the game as my GTX 570 blew up. I did not hear the fan sadly and could not stop on time

I want to say that I was playing the game since few weeks now with no issue. The problem occurs with the latest 0.9.8 version.

GGG had better investigate and patch quickly.

I had an Asus GTX 570 and the shop has to send it back to their customer service. It will take 3 to 4 weeks.
Thankfully the shop gave me a GTX 550 TI temporarily.

I will try the game with Vsync on and have an eye on temp with the Asus system monitor.

[EDIT] Hum just checked ... Vsync was on already in the settings.

I don't think I will play this game until it is fixed. I don't have the money to buy a new card if it messes up. I will have my fiancee do the same. Too many people with this problem with this game. (kind of like nvidia's overheating issue with starcraft 2 a while back)
I had the option Force Vsync on from playing cs in Nvidia control panel, i think it fixed it, played for 40 mins with no fan going crazy, going 1850 rpm ...

Can be it, dont know if 1850 is high, but it went way much higher with it forced on ...

Guess ill have to make a profile for PoE to turn it off ..
Just played 1 hour with the GTX 550 TI, temperature was constant at around 60° and GPU cooler at 30%
mine was 60+ also
I have force v sync on in my options as well. Problem still happens.
Fan speed is dependant on how the drivers decide to run them, not anything else. They could be set to only go full at 60*C + or something else. The sound of the fan doesn't really matter.
Just watch the temp for the GPU in speed fan and try keep it under 70*C.

If you're really having problems, clean out the case fans and fan on the GPU. I use a vacuum cleaner, but I'm told that they generate dangerous amounts of static electricity :P

P.S. If you are not confident handling the hardware, don't touch it. I am not responsible for your actions! If you see lots of dust and gunk in your PC, get someone to clean it.

First stop for Common Technical Problems
I've had the same problem, and it started in act 2 with my marauder. My comp shut down 3 times, the final time with my settings down and nothing else running. I'm convinced it's my gpu overheating so tonight I'm going to test it whilst monitoring the temp.

I might try some other characters too, and see if it's an issue with the character, act/zone, or maybe even skills you're using?

The only thing I can think of is I started using the sweep skill and would spam that constantly, and then bam! my comp would shut down. I'm not that tech-savvy so I don't know if that would make any sense or not...

I'm really loving the game so I hope they fix this quickly. I don't have this issue with any other game, though I've mostly just played LoL and PoE since it first happened.
