Overheating my video card?

The game has got no FPS-limiter yet as far as I know and that is one of the main reasons for the overheating. I would suggest using some kind of FPS limiter. Fraps should do it http://www.fraps.com/download.php or FPS-limiter 0.2 is fine http://www.filecrop.com/fps-limiter-0.2.html.

My laptop can still go toaster on me, but it is not happening very often after having set a limit of 30 FPS.

Guides for FPS-limiter 0.2, cause that is what I use: http://www.simforums.com/forums/external-fps-limiter_topic37713.html
I appear to be living in "Romance Standard Time". That has to be good! :)

That makes a lot of sense. Good catch. Trying this.
/shrugs.. for me. it is only when I play my duelist character. I play all my other characters just fine for hours. I don't understand. Maybe something wrong with that class or certain animations? It could be coincidence that it happens when I play my duelist but I tested it a few times.. Played a character for a little bit. The game was fine. Changed to my duelist.. "no signal."

Like I typed before the game is not messing with my fans and it is the same temp in this game than it is in others. 83 degrees. Which is not overheating temps. Unless the AMD control panel is showing wrong temps.

For now I just wont play as a duelist. :P

You guys should try and tone down the graphics, experiment with the setting where it won't over heat during gameplay.
I use speedfan to monitor and control my fans, it works well and pretty easy to use.

Most important thing, turn on Vysnc

You'll probs be okay.

I would like to see the ability to change particle density on spells
Playing with vsync off made my 480 sound like a helicopter. Once on, it definitely quieted it down.
vsync is on. I have it set to always be on in my card options. I use the amd overdrive tab for fan speeds. my fan speed and temps are normal. It could be a lot of things doing this but I don't think it is anything my end.

I have overdrive options set on my ati 6950.

Fan speeds and temps are in the normal range.

Vsync is on. In my options in the CCC and the game.

I have dual monitors if that does anything. (I remember when source powered games would run like crap if my 2nd monitor was on)

I use gamebooster to stop all unneeded processes in the background.

Like I keep typing *may be all coincidence* but it only happens when I play the duelist. First thing I did today after a fresh start of my computer was try to play the duelist. The error happened. I restarted and played another character. Nothing happened. Like I typed. coincidence? I don't know. It probably is cause that would make NO SENSE WHAT SO EVER! I know it sounds crazy but it really does happen to me all the time playing him but not any other character. All my characters I've tried are at the same spot in the game. If that sounds too out there to be the problem then ignore me heh. BUT the facts are my temps are normal and this still happens.

BUT my damn computer is weird. Years back when I had a Gametap account their software and games would be so damn laggy it was almost unplayable UNLESS I HAD AIM OPEN! No AIM open = lag. AIM open = gameplay smooth as butter! Weird I know heh. My computer is freaky sometimes.

My brand new gfx card gets so noisy because the fan starts to work really hard after 10 mins of playing.

I started to get worried so i dont play PoE that much ..

I dont know if the card gets hot or not, but the sound of the fans scares me a little because its so new ..

GeForce GTX 570

Im also running 2 screens, it could be the problem, havent tried to turn it off and see.

Also got vsync on, and even tried remove shadows etc. in the options
Yea. It happens to a lot of people who I've talked to here and other forums so it is definitely not our settings.
