Foils have crit multi and that's useless if you're using Maligaro's. If you're not then Foils are great because then you would need as much crit multi as possible.

Yes because of the crit chance. That node alone gives 7% more damage even with Maligaro's. And the small nodes leading up to it also give a lot of crit chance.

Did you ever thought of adding Impale to the build instead of going to the far right side of the tree?
I played around a bit and it looks like it could squeeze out more dps and even take some defense node on the tree without missing much except ~100 max health

There's a new PoB out there that calculates Impale damage so I might look into that. But that would mean redoing a lot of things in the build and the guide and I don't really have time at the moment. In general Impale could increase damage but it would also reduce clear speed because it needs stacks. I use Impale on my other build and you can easily see it ramp up the damage (well Pride plays a role too) on bosses. It's kind of like DoT.

Is it a good option to go for a high pDps Tiger Hook plus Rigwald's and then get 2% block chance through jewels? I've dumped way too much currency already trying to craft a good sword with block chance myself, the nerf to multicrafting really hurts. You basically have to hit T1 block with a T1 phys or T1 block with decent phys and a very good regal for the sword to even turn out decent...

It's all a mater of balance. You can craft 7% block chance in your armour and lose some life. Or anoint Gemini and lose some damage. 2% is rather low. VR will eventually cover the loss of 5% but at the beginning of the fight (especially against metamorphs because of the pause before the fight) your block chance will be lower and the chance of being hit much higher. So you have to decide if you want more damage or defense.

And yeah the multicraft nerf really sucks. They could have at least made it cheap.

I've dropped the block swords completely in favour of an anvil.

The best way to craft one though might be a good pdps sword with an open suffix and slam with a redeemer orb. It should be 1/3 to hit block, though I've hit chance to blind a whopping 4 times in a row, so weighting could make it not worth it.

Apparently I can't read. I always thought that Tiger Hook had block chance as implicit, but it has dodge chance...

I've actually thought about that as well, but yeah, can't be sure if the mods are weighted the same. From my experience of alt spamming Redeemer swords they aren't. And then you also have to hit the T1 roll.

Thanks for your suggestions guys, I think I'll opt for anointing Gemini and getting a good pDps Midnight Blade. 400pDps+ sword should make up for the loss of Blade of Cunning, right?
