free unlimited respec on passive skill (or a sandboxed Free Unlimited Respecs League)
From my one weekend of play - I would say "no." After my initial WTF moment, I liked the chaotic nature of the skill tree - its an interesting limitation to make it nearly impossible to wipe the entire one. It has also been stated (this info is a bit old) that there are 24 character slots which is plenty for experimentation purposes so if you really want an entirely new spec - you get to play a new character.
One modification that would be cool is though is allowing the "orb of regret" to be used on any node not just the leaf/end ones. So you would be be able to create holes in the skill tree, which would allow very ornate trees. Dernière édition par tacitus#6390, le 4 avr. 2012 à 07:15:02

" I'm afraid that really isn't possible at all. It would break the system beyond belief. The tree is designed so that you have to weigh up the cost of a node vs the path to get there. If you could just move the connecting lines out, you could take all the +30 attributes instead of the +10, take the +10, 20, 30% instead of the +3, 4, 5%, etc. The builds would end up basically the same for any given play style. THUMBS DOWN on free respecs and all.
If they make them rare or you get one every 3 months of play I could see that working. At anyrate, it should not be easy to attain as part of the fun in these games are having your decisions matter. As far as comparing this game to D3 goes, the only thing it has going for it over this game is the auction house. Other than that, this game is way better in every way I have seen. |

I think it's rather selfish of people to want full respects on the passive tree. It's split down the line who likes respecs and who doesn't but you get both in POE,the gem system is a full respec system(other than being able to lower the level of the gems) and the passive tree is partial respec which looks to me like it favours respec more than none respec.

" yeah, that would ruin the skill forest system where you trying to find the best path to a certain passives/perks. and i think that would also affect balance as characters would become way too powerfull. |

not unlimited. not free.
but it should exist, possibly as one of the cash shop items? and maybe one freebie at max level or at the end of act2 on the final difficulty |

" But there is already respect in game. Maybe just increase the number of respect points you get from quests |

" 111 of them? i think i would rather just reroll lol |

" Youl not have 111, max youl have 60 to 70. You get 8 from quests, and probably 5 to 10 from orbs. The goal of respect is not to change and create a totally different build, but to fix few things in your existing build. |

I feel respecs should be unlimited, I'm not sure if they are currently (only played in the public weekend), but I don't think they should be free. A challenging cost, maybe one that increases per respec (like WoW) will keep the game engaging.
I do see the merit in a separate league where you can test builds out. |
