So, I just uninstalled PoE today.
I hope you continue to monitor the forums like I do, even though I have long since stopped playing. It's nice to have people who know how to discuss and debate.

Just to add another voice, I agree as well, especially about point 1 (and especially with timed mechanics like Incursion and Synthesis).
I'm just hanging around for now, waiting to see how Last Epoch beta turns out. Grim Dawns new Expansion might be worth a look as well, though the base game didn't quite click with me. |

" It's quite a nice concept - but not for RPGs, and even less for PoE. I've been around since Closed Beta, when the game was much slower (check really old Maelstrom of Chaos gameplay, for example). This is missing nowadays, and while speed-clearing can be fun, it gets repetitive pretty fast, especially for those of us who've been here a while. I agree with OP. I tried Synthesis but realized the only way to enjoy league is to completely skip Synthesis mechanics (I'll spare you a lengthy rant, just check the more constructive criticism ;-)). And why should I play a league that essentially amounts to Standard? Why am I leaving this here? In the foolish hope someone might read it who is open to feedback. I have recently came to similar conclusions.
PoE is too fast, too rng, too buggy, too "unfinished". It's just no fun anymore but rather annoyance. It saddens me because I think that core concept of the game is great but for the 1st time I'll probably not even level to 90, let alone progress well into end-game. My main quarrel with PoE is about broadly defined speed. There is no point in making any other character than very speedy one. Any other choice is self-punishment as game is based on rng system that rewards for playing more and speedy character, quite obviously, can run more maps, delves, memories etc per hour. Game punishing mechanics are also tied to speed and are very annoying because there is little that can be done to plan for them or mitigate and that little is, well, to get faster (or play RF). One-shot mechanics are sign of poor design in general. When these are random, then it's just laziness added on top. How much more fun it would be if game could stagger damage and kill only careless or too bold players who ignore warnings. But that's not possible because of speed design. Speed also makes most of game unmemorable. Everything dies instantly (if not monsters, then player). It's click, click, off-screen, flask and gather laying currency, then repeat. Finally, speed of content release - my main worry about PoE. Content size of usual PoE league needs 9 to 12 months of development to be good (from initial design spec to Release Candidate build) and judging by design flaws and especially by number of functional bugs, GGG is nowhere near that timeline. Synthesis was released with progression blockers to the public. Not just some lower class bugs that affect gameplay quality in long run but real Must Fix bugs like that portals that were becoming inactive. This is really poor. Scale back GGG. Re-organise core development around 3 strong feature teams, use outsourcing for consoles, do 3 releases per year (or 2 leagues, 2 balancing DLC), let people enjoy content for longer, re-introduce depth of gameplay by balancing rewards around other factors than speed, re-build monetisation system to match good, sustainable development practice. Good luck. Your game is still great - don't waste it. |

There is a kinship amongst the fans of this genre that makes it hard to read that OP. I don't have the experience with PoE as you or most here but I
have played with many of you in d3, mh, hg:l, etc. all the way back to burning up mice playing d1. So when you see another player post what is clearly thoughtful and honest feedback you empathize. As fans we want GGG to succeed and the game to thrive and we are also aware of how painful losing games we have invested in can be. Let's hope GGG and the market improve. |

I actually reinstalled it not long ago and logged into my standard hideout and pretty much unistalled right away again. That's such a pity because i was really looking to get into it with an open mindset however a hard dose of undenaible reality sent me back to playing other games.
Still like the forums though, i keep coming here as a healthy reminder on why i should never install PoE again. "In this game you're just a cow being milked, not a human being entertained" - Kiss_Me_Quick Dernière édition par IIPheXII#5639, le 18 mars 2019 à 22:53:13

" This is well-said! I fell like this would be solved if they made investment in defences more rewarding. For example, you can put 15 tree nodes into damage and gain a lot of clearspeed for it. However, put 75 nodes into defence and you still get one-shot.... " Also well said! |

Once I finish... re-doing all my betrayal encounters... because apparently the THOUSANDS of them I ran in betray league is not enough to give me Jun Level 7, I am out. I feel that is a good ejection point. I was happy to buy every supporter pack since I started, but nuking my atlas and milking me for the insulting "Standard Player Map Tab Tax" - when I already unload more than $500.00 a year on your product - is just flat insulting. Not because it's too expensive... (can easily afford it), but because it's INSULTING you think so little of your clients that you'd resort to such a petty and blatant money-grab.
You've killed this golden goose trying to nickle and dime me. Before you became INSULTING I was more than happy to buy your supporter packs. Tell Tencent to keep their nose outta your business model - their INSULTING cash grabs are costing you big-ticket customers. Dernière édition par Sabranic_SilverDeth#2793, le 19 mars 2019 à 02:14:52
