just cuz you just started playing std does not change the fact that std is a dumpster league.

Let us not turn this into std vs new/fresh league. Some people like to play std and some people like to play new leagues.

Why cant you just let people use the "reset all passives" button if they want to reset?Why sh*t on their builds and just reset everything automaticly?
This is so frustrating you if have 5-6 GG chars you refined the tree on...

I really am starting to think that no body cares what we want,just keep the money rolling in,and sh*t on everything else....

Exactly that. The first league I played that ended I actually was confused why the game allowed me to reset while it already was reset and putting trying to allocate a passive warned me that I would lose the ability to reset.

The reason was that my old tree was just not working with the new options (and that the given informations were and still are pretty bad).

Imagine you pick passive X as a path to passive Y but X got removed. How would your tree look like? Having achieved a free leap? That might give you 2 or more additional passive points since you save ones for the path. Or would it deactivate the not corrected parts? So what happens when someone doesn't noticed the missing connection and allocates another passive will this remove the ability to reset? Guess that would lead to an even greater (and more justified) outcry.

Enter the game and press "P" now type in "Serpent Stance".I had a Melee crit staff build and from the whole build only that cluster was changed,now why should i lose all my points for only that cluster?

Come on you are an old player so you should know. What I do is transfer all the chars into pob (not updated to the latest patch) then I intall a second pob and update it to the new version and import the chars here too, if something does not work anymore I fix it in the new pob version. Then when the patch hits the server, I only look at pob and rebuild my chars, usually takes me about one hour.

Thank you, i tried it today from advice i got from another player on the forum here and managed to save the trees and copy them,but on the other hand,what if we did not have PoB :D

You'd do SCREENSHOTS OF THE TREE (omg, blows everybody's minds...).

Isn't that hard to come up with the solution if you spend time THINKING ABOUT THE SOLUTION instead WASTING TIME ON ANGER AND WHINING...

P.S. people still amaze me again and again and again.
Have registration date of 1+ year(s), played\witnessed other leagues (hence, "suffered" the tree resets earlier) yet don't bother to save their build trees......

There no point to follow the start of the GPS path if it only lead to a dead end.. You wont get to work that way

As you see, in both cases the same thing happen... Rework of paths get changed and the only solution is to begin again from the starting point.

Yes! Permanent as in: "Content here is always in league; you cannot migrate anything out of permanent league and progress you made in league is ADDED permanently every 3 months(favor,craft unlock, hideout, maps and so on).

You also do not have to "fix" 5 characters every 3 months... If the tree was unaffected, it wont reset. It seem to me that you have lot of similar trees to have so many of them impacted all the time. Regardless, If you dont play some of them you might never know they been reset. Permanent doesnt mean what you seem to think... I mean, you dont have permanent level either right ? you can still level... You can still get balance patch and tree upgrade(The reason of your complain).

What Sort Of Warning Would you like ?
a) The skill tree has been changed:
1.Would you like to reset skill tree or reset skill tree ?

b) Your logged on a character with no passive blahblah
1. "Ok"

c) The skill tree you have is no longer possible. Would you like to:
1. "Reset tree"
2. "Delete character"

Is there some option I did not think of ? Im open to learn what ideas you might have. You must have a solution to find this behavior so unacceptable.

Hey i used to do that. Take screenshots of my charachters' passive trees before a big update. This was before path of building existed.
It seems i was not the only one :)

You can also use this https://www.pathofexile.com/build/create Never tried it though.
Wonder what happened to ggg's ingame skilltree planner. Was is discontinued? It launched with 3.00 if i remember correctly but wasn't working.

The tree reset is only forced if the tree couldn't exist in the new league (e.g. uses nodes which are deleted or non-existent pathing).
In other cases, you are given a free reset, but it is not mandatory.

I have been playing since open beta ( back when the Scion did not exist ), and I for sure don't remember such a tree at all.
Since it has a middle starting location, I seriously doubt that this ever was a skilltree usable in Path of Exile, seriously.

Judging by the name "deviantart[...]poe_skill_tree__by_jawsofhana-d4kgzrv" This is NOT an actualy PoE skill tree, that's some made up fan art.

There have been some quite big changes over time to the skill tree ( especially when they added the scion ), but nothing that different ( speaking from post closed beta experience ).
