Parties are actually ridiculous in POE
Because mechanics that do not respect irl issues.
If you miss one beat for a second the party is gone out of reach. People don't wait, most skip loot that you want to check out. Players simple don't connect. Plus the whole 1 portal/player thing. I guess the chaos+ regal recipes were made for us to skip then huh? I hate those "gotta go fast lvl 99 only stop to pick up things worth 2 ex or more" elitist rushers. I go at my pace, have snacks, make food, do other stuff in between. The only times I ever party are: -trade -lab boost -occasional low low level questing for 1-2h max (if my build is weak early on) -master rotations -buying a super hard achievement map/kill thing Otherwise no, just no, don't use my portal, don't come in my hideout, get the fuck out, I don't like your ching chong realm 500 ping bullshit, fuck off, don't whisper me, don't touch my shit, if you can't wait gtfo... Party mapping is out of the question, way too many obstacles and inconveniances. |

I've made a post about this in the past asking for them to fix this shit. I shouldn't need 5 other strangers to receive godly drops.

" From what i recorded these past years and experienced myself here are few reasons pushing players to go alone: - No particular goals except rotations and pushing - Loots formula has probably been made after a really hard party with a lot of drugs and alcohol. I remember doing dom runs back in days up to 5/7k and watching everybody dropping decent loots except me :D - The most important thing in my case retaining me from playing in group anymore, the skill effects and screen flood. Nothing fancy, and more something i don't want to experience more than ten minutes. Hf :)

Because the servers are not decent. The way POE is with fast rips people won't play with anyone unless they are the same zone.
Other games people didn't mind being 100-250ms, now people will insta leave. So you basically already have 2/3 of the population that you would never play with. I've had people leave farming simple XP areas like chambers with 180ms... yet I have to put up with 350-400ms pings from some countries and 250ms from others. The game even though it's MP does everything to encourage solo play, including have stuff like shield charging brightbeaks. |

The same reason why there isn't a phenomenon of people sharing temple runs.
Playing in a party hinders you, it doesn't help you. Each additional person in the party gives less loot per person, plus all the other mechanical nonsense where the game can only handle one person doing something at a time ( map drops, flask charges, item / skill triggers, achievements, challenges, etc. etc. ) People shat on Diablo 3 all the time ...but it super benefits group play, and removed 99% of the in-fighting and forum drama regarding loot drop ownership. |

I play a Hybrid support-summoner. I can solo, or I can support.
Define "party". If you mean a full party of meta builds, then there's a good chance the zone will be clear by the time I finished zoning in, and if not, I'm going to crash out due to VGFX overload. If you mean I group with 1/2 people who aren't a 0.06 attack speed maps-per-minute meta-clearers, then... I do it all the time. This league, my favorite players are the lightning totem/traps players who haven't uber-geared yet. Their pace fits mine perfectly, and lightning-spell based chars benefit heavily from all but 1 of my auras. #1 rule of official forum boards of every video game ever: use the forums to relay info, gather suggestions, or the rare narrow-focused Poll; but NEVER as "feedback". #2 rule: Never say the #1 rule in an official capacity. Let some guy on the forums say it, leaving yourself plausible deniability. Dernière édition par themousemaster#2051, le 11 juin 2018 à 16:46:54

People have ADHD and pace of usual party is not for my age anymore + shared loot is discouraging.
While above points are subjective, there's one big problem: transparency. Party play in PoE is a mess. Diablo 3 with all it's flaws did it much better. I don't know what's going on the screen with party play in PoE, though. Dernière édition par Gosen#5296, le 11 juin 2018 à 17:27:13

PArty's are ALWAYS the favorite way to go in any game, this is the only game where GGG fucked it up :(
if person X spends all his currency on MF gear and go play with friends they reap the benefits (so tere is absolutly NO reason to play in groups if they are not fixing the loot system (personal loot perhaps?) The last time i played in partys was with leveling (Dried Lake/etc.) and seeying all these Exalts dropping for everyone.....i had to do it with chromes...... But dont get your hopes up they will EVER fix group play....it is not the game for it and we have a game developer who doesnt even play his own game (else this and trade would have been fixed a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago ;-) |

" Because short of an aura bot your chances of dying with any group of players actually using skills is vastly higher on HC than it is if you play solo. Personally I think the games almost unplayable when it comes to bosses in a party you can't see anything and in a game tuned full of large telegraphs for you to dodge that can be a real problem. Obviously its all easy if you convince your friend to play a character that does literally nothing apart from buff you, but then again they are called bitchboys for a reason :P |
