I think those rings could work well when clearing the map but for the boss the mana leech provided by Warlord's Mark could be more useful (MoM) - like a swap in ring with Warlord's mark

Hi.I got to 77 and still lacking some uniques though the build is a breeze to play with.
I got a question after looking through many vaal vortex blade builds. How do they work, if you know. What is the deal with them?
Passives are almost the same and the gear is similar.

Your gear has some mods that doesnt affect blade vortex at all. The added elemental damage to atacks doesnt work with blade vortex since its a spell and not an attack. You can see it at the tags when you hover over a skill gem what does affect it. So your weapons stats mostly not apply any damage. Same for the rings. Check my character to get an idea of what you need. You can do a budget for like 1-3chaos each item slot. Get life and resistance first then crit strike for spells and spell damage if it is possible. Just look up other players :)

Thank you very much. 'Just to get this right, if there´s "adds X to x Fire Damage" it only goes on attacks? I understood it as it would add to any damage since ther isnt explicitly attack.

because arcane surge requires a set amount of mana to proc, if you level it higher you will have to cast orb of storms twice to get the proc instead of just once with the lower level arcane surge.

level 6 is 26 mana to proc the buff. which is one orb of storms worth of mana, if you level the arcane surge gem higher it will increase the amount of mana required to get the buff meaning you will have to cast orb of storms twice to get the buff instead of just once

Are you really using 2 Warlord's Mark? Why ? (I'm newb to the game)

During mapping the Warlords Mark is applied by Herald of Thunder to supply you with leech, you can't rely on HoT at bosses though, as they don't necesarrily have adds to activate it, thus it is put on a Cast when damage taken, to allow you to leech when you take damage.

It still requires souls so why would you do that ? Nevermind i didn't see that extra BV that was in my skillbar, very nice thanks i will use this from now on.



Also to the OP what would be the optimal gem setup for map clearing ? i'm aware you use conc effect on bosses but what do you swap it out with for mapping ?

There are 8 gems listed under the guide.

I currently use Vaal BV, increased crit support, controlled des, conc effect, added fire damage/hypothermia, power charge on crit.

That leaves me with the following gems i'm not sure what to do with, physical to lightning and efficacy.

is there a way to improve cast speed ? i only have 2.74 and sometimes it feels .. meh

Yes its somehow misleading, got fooled by it aswell back when I started the game. When it doesnt tell you its for spells it isnt :D If you want, you can add me "EzBladeVortex". Im not very much in forums but I can send you some good poe.trade links ingame for cheap item upgrades or some advice if you want to.

Amazing build so much fun! Just curious how people have shaped their atlas?
