IS 6 LINK POSSIBLE?

Unless you have ungodly amounts of currency it is always cheaper and a smarter move to just save up and buy the 6l you want.

For instance right now im using a 5l vis mortis that cost me 120c

vorici 6l would cost me 1500 fusing which translates to 500-600 chaos in fusing in HCA? Right now I can buy a 6l vis mortis for 420-450 choas. I can get the chest, the sockets, and the links for cheaper than 6linking alone would cost via vorici.

Now of course you can try to 6l yourself, but it's just a stupid move to make if you can't afford to lose a lot of cash. It's gamble.


It's not the games problem, it's people lacking game knowledge and how they should approach things based on their resources.


Edit: I should also point out that this is on a case by case basis. Someone has to 6L those chest pieces themselves (unless they drop 6l). What this means is in general popular chests for a league which vis mortis is for abyss will have an abundance of 6l for sale driving the price down below what it would cost for you to do it yourself. Right now for instance there is 19 vis mortis 6l for sale in HCA and that competition is going to drive the price down opposed to if there was only a 2 or 3.

And similarly someone who say 6linked an infernal mantle doesn't really have much of a market for it and has to sell it most likely at a loss of what he put into it.

The only time you would ever have to link your own chest is if it was a very specific rare chest that isn't on the market that you had to self craft and then link yourself. Or a unique chest with no 6l on the market, it's pretty unlikely in SC leagues but you might find that once leagues start dying down the market in HC temp leagues can get a bit barren.

After 5 1/2 years, I hit my first 6 link a couple months ago on a bout 350 fusings.
If you feel you NEED a 6L buy it or Vorici it.

What else would you have used the 1000+ fusings for?

Chris has said the odds of getting a 6L spamming fuses equates to a little better than using Vorici. The community has tried to suss out the exact value and Chris himself has stated varying details over time.

So the odds everyone agrees on (even Chris) is somewhere between 1300-1400 fuses. Therefore, it's always better to use Vorici. You cannot defy RNG. If you 6L on the first fuse, and then another right after it on the 30th, and another on the 100th, and another on the 60th, then you will lose all that gain eventually. If the odds dictate 1300-1400 that over the course of time, that is what you'll spend. It may be 20 now, but it may likely be 3000 on the next one. It will all even out over time.

It's just a stupid gambling trap for noobs. Either buy the worst 6L and then divine it, or buy the best item without links and just use Vorici. Even for jewellers, it's often better to use Vorici (though I don't because 350 isn't much so I spam them and it will all work out in the end).

What you don't do is just toss fuses. You may luck out but considering the odds in this game, the chances are slim.

I've seen streamers spend 4500 and not get a 6L. RNG is cruel. Just bypass it. The stories of those guys who 6L on the 4th fuse pale in comparison to the waves who eat up their entire reserves trying and don't get one.

I have changing opinion about fusing ...

Playing since Prophecy league, and for 2 years, I was Lucky : fusing my "main" body armor about 300/600 fusing. But last leagues was horrible ... more than 2500 fusing for 6L my disfavour, and same price for 6L a queen of the forest ...

So, after frustration and anger, i take another point of view, and doing thing different for 6L :

- Vorici recipe for a really good armor :shavronne, belly, ... only in late league,
- divination cart for a 6L astral plate / chainmail / ... (about 20/30c per card in early league) + essence crafting : you have a 6L with a sure good prefix/suffix for 250c,
- sell your fusing for chaos, sell your chaos for exalted, buy what you want !

It was my first ever try to 6link anything as well ... guess i was kinda lucky.

Another method, especially for the sf crowd:

Accumulate about 300 fuses, and 5-link it via spamming.
Then accumulate the same number again, and repeat. It works really good if the base is common like a belly, so you can alternate 2 of them getting never in risk of loosing the 5 link. This method works good for the "low-trade" players, who can afford to buy 2 bellies for a hand full of chaos but don't trade to get several exalts.

If the random generator is generous, you'll have a 6- link, otherwise you play 5-linked.

You can change this number based on your luck - but my 2000+ fusings try gave me lots of 5 links but never a 6-link until end of the season.

Otherwise: Use a tabula.
