They add themselves to your PP pre-approved payments list so it's always possible to get hidden charges through PP the same way it could happen with CC. For peace of mind, I went to PP and removed them from the pre-approved list.

For anyone who used PP and wants to check and removed them manually:

PP Settings->Payments->Manage Pre-Approved->Xsolla->Cancel

I wouldn't do that either. Xsolla still gets your card information and you still can be charged by them for ... anything.

Xsolla doesn't get your CC information from paypal. Paypal doesn't give cc information to anybody. Check how paypal works. Paypal don't give cc information to ANY seller. Just paid them . And then you pay paypal.

And Why the fxxx do I have to go through Xsolla when paying via paypal ?? paypal is a great service provider already, why do I have to give my account data to a third party provider?? That is a bad joke.

before: you advised your bank to give money to paypal and paypal to give it to stripe who gave it ggg

now: you advise your bank to give money to paypal and paypal to give it to xsolla who give it ggg

now on steam: you advise your bank to give money to steam and steam to give it to xsolla (-30% fee which steam keeps) who give it ggg

there were alot of people who complained about missing options to support ggg from all parts of the world.

regarding paypal: they're just a payment processor who puts itself in the middle of transactions to take their share. the best outcome still is to use the credit card of your bank to pay ggg directly over xsolla.

if there are problems with xsolla, just mail support@grindinggear.com so they can fix those issues with their payment provider.

Just an update. After speaking with a GGG representative they kindly linked me to the following reddit thread, where Chris Wilson states that due to user feedback GGG will be switching back to Stripe.

the thread title is extremely misleading - nowhere does it say xsolla will no longer be used.

I went ahead and changed it.

Apologies, I had misunderstood the original statement and thought that Xsolla would not longer be used once the other payment processor was brought back.

For those who removed Xsolla from Paypal's pre-approved list like I did, you might find yourself unable to process any more payments or pack purchases.

Xsolla now gives a payment error when you do so.

Edit: Contacted GGG, they advised removing your payment options and adding it again, which worked.

I didn't say that but it's true. They get that information from you.

you know normally im in the



camp when it comes to buying supporter packs

but since Xsolla came along GGG is like



basically what im saying is I want to give GGG money but for some reason they want me to hand it to their shady friend first

Thought about buying through steam but id rather give GGG all the money

if GGG keeps Xsolla they might as well make everything free since no one can pay anyways.

I thought it timely (irony) to resurrect this post with the hope of eliciting a response from GGG.

What's the plan guys? It was December 2017 when Chris stated they would be expanding their list of payment options to include the previous provider along with the current options.

Now I get there have been a few company matters that may have taken up some resources, but does it really take 7 months to establish a payment provider for your business?

I reached out to support back in February and they acknowledged my concerns but were unable to speculate on when the change would occur.

I'd really like an update on this situation GGG. How long before I can pay you?
