How about a "Casual Self Found" option for the casual player?
I used to think like you, but after playing SSF for 3 months I must disagree. I have so many enabling uniques by now that I can make alot of decent end-game characters. Sure i am missing some op items but the thing is I dont need them to play the game seccessfuly. Most of my gear is crafted with essences. I think the difficulty level is satisfaying and should not be changed.

People seem to be under the impression that 3.0 will bring a new freshness to the game, make it new again. I tend to think that after 3-4 playthroughs it's going to feel like a whole lot of work not much new.
Why do I mention that? Well with xbox coming and the age of the game I think it's almost time they put out an offline version. Then people can mod it how every they like and each person can effectively get the version of POE that they personally want. People give arguments against it like, money, cheats, player base fracture. But really all of those problems have been solved. |

" Correct me if I'm wrong but won't this be the Xbox version of PoE. Without keyboard input trading won't be the main focus so GGG will have to provide better quality drops. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

" Very true. The only way for GGG to increase SSF drop rates is to add a Standard SSF League so our Challenge League SSF gear goes to standard SSF so they can't be sold. The higher drop rates would then be ok so we can play PoE and focus of the REAL REASON most are playing PoE for the build crafting and monster bashing and not the trade simulator (f'cking gear flipping). "better quality drops". What if I told you that the drops we have now ARE "better". They could really ratchet back drops and PoE would still be fun to play.
People will always want "better". No matter what they change it to, people will grow accustom to it and cry out for "better". Quit it. |

" I can confirm that when I quit playing more than a years ago, and coming back to the game 3 months ago, drops are much much better. I remember seeing 6S drops once per few maps, now I basically get 2-3 per map average. Also overall currency drops (especially chaos), much better than it used to be. |

" Absolutely true. This is also why PoE has suffered of late from too much power creep leading to server simulation calculation overload and more times of high latency. Full clearing Shaped Strand in < 1 minute is insane and breaks PoE (even if only 1% or 2% of top players can craft a build to do that). Players expectations are always for greater and greater with "more please" all the time. Legacy League and the whole mechanics of leaguestones should be the top end and is the "just right" for playing PoE and getting good to great drops. Even me, a "filthy casual", easily got my SSF Legacy build to level 90 in 77 days and had a great time doing so. The leveling through the 80s and the usually boring "grind" was easily offset by leaguestones. It's a damn shame GGG has decided to not migrate leaguestones to standard league. It's great fun even if we have to micromanage them and clunkily load/unload them for specific maps (a simple check box for each leaguestone slot to enable/disable using them would solve this). Edit: GGG could (and should) create a new SSF Standard League (both SC and HC) and then have leaguestones only in SSF. There would be no need for severe gear starvation (current Legacy SSF drops are working perfect right now) as it's an SSF league and thus no gear we get can ever flood the game economy. In fact if there was a SSF Standard League with leaguestones then we'd get more gear we'd want to keep for future builds, thus maxing out out our stash quicker, and GGG would sell more stash mtx every 3 weeks on the Super Stash Tab weekend sale. That should be a mostly win-win for GGG and most players. The obvious downside is that more players would be siphoned off of Standard SC and HC leagues (although Standard HC is mostly dead from what I've read). But necessary trade function improvements with asynchronous trade so sellers can sell gear while playing or AFK and buyers can buy without getting the all too frequent "seller is AFK" message would go a long way toward getting more players involved in trading. I know I'd be using PoE.trade much more and even set up my own "for sale" tabs with my extra gear (another way for GGG to increase revenue) if I could always pay the B/O price without having to play "hunt the seller" subgame bullshit. With more ways to play more players who have quit would/should come back to increase every league and offset the spreading of players across 4 leagues instead of just 2 (Standard SC and HC, Standard SSF SC and SSF HC). There would not be an option to quit SSF, your character would stay in the permanent SSF league forever. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Which part of "Quit it" do I need to explain to you?

I'm pretty much a filthy casual. Post more than play no doubt. You just have to lower expectations a bit - as in - you probably wont be killing the big 6 as a filthy casual SSF. But realistically you can beat 99% of other content SSF. Drops are fine mate. Even SSF.
My SSF map is like 101 % completed at lvl 90 and I only play 5-10 hrs a week and have not played AT ALL in like a month. SSF is in a good spot IMHO. Although I wish skill tree was unlocked. I find so much shit I want to try but cant due to regrets. So in reality maybe drops are too good? Git R Dun! Dernière édition par Aim_Deep#3474, le 3 juin 2017 à 16:39:20

I have no right to judge others but I kind of feel compelled to say this. I do not respect anyone asking for an easier game. It is not just a game, but also a competition.
