are we path of d2 Rmt now?
I respect GGG's rules against Rmt but it's pretty much a joke if GGG does nothing about it.
do I even bother to report people who blatantly Rmt or is that wasting GGG's time? but then again why should I care if it doesn't affect me right? pretty sure most the players using Rmt don't know it's against the rules because there is no obvious warning. GGG would probably lose a huge amount of players if they actually did anything about it because there seems to be more traffic on a certain Rmt site than these forums atm. If you have actual evidence, send it to GGG. They have and continue to ban for rmt. But they don't go by gut feeling. They need proof.

" nah it's just a joke because from what I hear you won't get banned even if you get reported. besides that Rmt so rampant that GGG would be wasting their time trying to combat it. the game is just a shit fest of Rmt forum gold hoarders just like diablo2/3 ended up which is the reason Blizzard made d3 bind to account in the first place but then the game just dies because as many people that fight against Rmt/auction house designed games there are 100x more who promote it. |

" Come on now, you can't be serious. I think the biggest problem GGG has for RMT is that most who do it a lot, know how to do it with the use of fake account, so their main ones are never at risk. It's pretty hard to prove at that point. And it's not like it's hard to create new fake accounts in a F2P game. D3 has a similar problem for a few seasons now where botters are using alternate accounts which protects them from everything. |

" so yeh it seems GGG can't do anything about it even if they wanted to. I guess this is that type of game now... funny how people put up more fuss about not wanting an in game auction house when there is already a 3rd party gold/real money trading website that breaks the rules, go figure. well GGG knew what they were doing when they made this the successor to diablo2. let's hope 3.0 has some better trade upgrades because it seems like 3rd party is becoming more popular. |

another thing I don't understand is why do GGG bother putting rules against Rmt via forum gold/ real money websites when it's clear that this problem is so out of control yet ggg are content to let a 3rd party website aka poe.trade be the main source of trade interaction let alone there are no proper trade updates.
really I imagine why this thread gets no replies is because most players advocate Rmt only because GGG have no real way of dealing with it instead they sweep it under the rug and hope it doesn't become so popular to the point where literally everyone is pooling all their wealth into Rmt wealth so they can compete with the economy in the next league. really GGG? I played d2 back when Rmt was the most beneficial way to gain wealth especially when there is a ladder/league reset every few months and the devs don't bother to implement a legitimate trade system. |

RMTing is rampant among top HC/SC players. This is nothing new. It's especially rampant in SC especially among the Chinese/Russian communities. It is what it is, and until GGG finally gets off the trade centric gameplay, then you will continue to see RMT being completely rampant.

If you think GGG won't punish people for RMT, go ahead and do it and see how long it takes you to be banned while we laugh.
Just because they don't publicly announce bannings doesn't mean it isn't happening. Just because you see one person getting away with it doesn't mean there aren't plenty more that didn't. And you don't know how long until they get caught. Hey maybe the reason they aren't banned yet was because you decided to make an emo ass post about how it all seems pointless instead of reporting them, giving them the evidence, and moving on with your life. Yes rmt, bots are all things that are going to continue to happen. Name one online game that doesn't have them at all. Even D3 still has RMT with no actual trade system apart from 2 hours of present group members. Doesn't meant these companies don't try their best to stop it in most cases but its an uphill battle. The only time I can think of that games I played caused a massive, public disruption in botting/rmt was my Runescape times. The creator of one of the bot programs felt bad how rampant his program had become and abused since they had some reason for designing it or something, personally didn't want it being used to bot and sell the loots through RMT or whatever. Offered to help try to make an antiprogram to Jagex and they hired him on at the same time that they started producing massive bot ban waves and preemptive preventions.
