Am I delusional, or running higher maps is not worth it
See, you drop the same chaos orbs etc from strand 6 compared to strand 11. Maybe even more, because you clear faster. If your build struggles before 90 then it sucks. If you missed selling hubrises and vaal regalia in first week, then you shouldn't even bother. Then - what is the point of ever running red maps if you dont plan to kill guardians/shaper? I run some strands and get 2-3 c from each, just too lazy to grind them, so I waste time helping people do normal lab or something. Would running shaped strands/quays give me better drops? I doubt it. Maybe my perception is skewed because I run srs, and ran out of interesting passive nodes ten lvls ago. Currently speccing into scion movement speed ones. AFAIK , apart from skyforth, you can drop any unique in game in tier 6 strand. Dropping guardian map and selling it is like 2 chaos less than selling fragment from it. With easy maps you can spec more and more into mf, so you can chain maps slower or do less of them. With rampage I recently got untained paradise xp levels from strand.
Are my drops too damn good for what I deserve, or I'm really missing something? Exp wise, running lower tier maps quickly is likely more efficient.
Chris said some time ago they intentionally made end game content less rewarding in some aspects compared to shit tier content (t11 strands). IGN: Arlianth

Yeah but my argument is, if you really need 90 lvl to kill something worthwhile, your build sucks. Okay I get it, if your build can laugh at shaper at 90 and not before, I'm totally in. But 90% of players running maps, they would gladly trade 50% xp lost for exalted orb or even 30c . So I dropped beacon and strand. Why the hell would I pick beacon/sulphur wastes/volcano/shaped quay over easy strand or even acid lakes or even oasis... Gear (money) > lvl up
Ok, one afterthought after your comment - chayula breach domain is really insane for xp and its quite bit better for drops (before boss) compared to my 120/110 mf char. Had one carry howa who took me in, got 9% xp being at 92 lvl Why bother finding a Mirror of Kalandra if it can be [Removed by Support] Killing the Elder or Shaper while following someone's build is like finding a street using google maps - such an achievement! Many I did some Core maps and profited 1-2c off it, on other runs I did springs and got map drops worth an exalt in few mins.
It is totally random, you can have super luck in low tier as in high tier, only that super luck is in lower part of distribution of rng so you will notice it maybe in huge number of runs, like 1000. Spreading salt since 2006 Dernière édition par Necromael#6926, le 15 mars 2017 à 02:27:23

Shape your atlas correctly and use sextants. You can make bank selling extra red maps. Running shaped strand i would get 2-6 shaped strands and other reds per run.
Running higher maps might give higher I-level but they all drop chaos and stuff. |

I think the final conclusion is that most people don't know how "secret society" of PoE works. Those guys share bits of how they get rich, and other people try to emulate that.
For example Uber Runner in the first week has so many clients and with right gear he can make 25c per run NOT counting chests after izaro. Shaper is big source of income too. High ilvl hubris, vaal regalia, crystal belts. What most folks seem to omit is that while those sources of income are great in the first weak, they have worse outcomes in the later stages of league. Someone starting strong build later will have much more problems collecting various upgrades to gear that will make their build shine because payoff will be a lot lower. In other words - go meta OP or go home. Now all of this is both good and bad in some ways. It's good, because people really need those unique map/shaper/lab carries and if you nolife in the first week, you probably won't even have to play the rest of league because you can achieve everything you wanted. The bad thing is that this system is exploitative. Small guys become "farmers" and grinders for "rich overlords" who make much more bank per hour without relying on rng. So if you got late, you may as well farm easy content and stop upgrading your gear because you are dying too much - instead you buy items you want, such as drop restricted items that will become expensive in the future months. There are two ways how the situation will unfold. Either everyone will follow meta so the wealth will be distributed more evenly, or GGG nerfs OP builds and bosses with them, so content will be doable by everyone dedicated enough. Last but not least, I asked the thread question because I wanted someone to point any mistakes in my thinking. Why bother finding a Mirror of Kalandra if it can be [Removed by Support]

It always pays to be the first no matter what you do. Therefore early league money making is never a good way to judge the viability of content.
realistically if you want to see if something is sustainable .. well go to a place where you dont have a choice in the matter like say standard. standard is technically sustainability at its worse .. you dont have the loot pinatas that temp leagues have to supplements your exp per map , your currency per map or your maps per map. A huge reason why people are chaining high maps in temp leagues is because of all this extra free loot from maps. That being said in even standard you could realistically bounce back and forth between t13s and 14s and finance it all by selling t15s and 16s or from drops in terms of exp .. neither t15 maps nor t16s are actually worth it. and unless you are a farming shaper or are bored the map returns from t16s are .. actually pretty pathetic. one can argue nothing above the fastest 11, 12 layouts are actually worth it since you can just alch and go sub t13 and realistically maintain Dernière édition par Saltychipmunk#1430, le 15 mars 2017 à 11:31:28

So all the chaos I pissed away buying sex tents for my shores etc. and the time involved would've been better spent on shaped strands? Good to know; I'm trying to get to 100 for the first time (with the wrong build to do it, but whatever).
