I just cant beat shaper....and I went broke trying...

I have spend over 700 chaos on try's and I'm down to my last 100c.. major feelsbadman... my entire league profits all gone to failed Shaper tries...


I'm not gonna get into the details of why I failed so many times and im not asking for advice. Thanks anyway tho. The community and utubes has helped me learn much but...

In the end I think i'm just simply too old to have the reaction times needed to beat this raid style encounter in its current state.


If super long, easily brickable, 50+ chaos per try fights like this are the future of poe im gonna have to be out. I Was having a great time too, until this fight.

I play this game to get away from world of warcraft style, 10+ min fight raid style bosses...this shaper fight is a total cluster fuck of shitbricking bummerama...

I bet Chris Wilson has never beaten shaper and I bet he never will, someone should ask him that for the next fancast interview he does.

I'm kinda also glad I didn't buy the 400$ pack like I was planning because now that I see what endgame bosses are going to be like in the future, I don't see myself playing much longer now...

In closing sadrant. I feel this fight is to long, costs to much per attempt and is way to brutal for any kind of average gamer to really enjoy.

P.s. This is coming from a player who did 100 uber lab runs and loved it...

Shapers a hard one to kill but don't think every time u dont kill him its a fail, if you look hard enough you learn something every attempt. Keep at it youll kill him eventually.

Honestly I wouldnt put too much weight on shaper, its a 1 off fight, its sort of there for those that want to play that sort of thing once in a while like uber atzubi. I still havent fought him, I have 1 shaper set in my stash on standard, its a fight Ill only ever play from self found fragments and Im not all together bothered if its something my characters can do or not. Endgame is mapping, thats the day in day out endgame farm, I make characters to fight maps and as long as they can do that Im happy enough with them.

If I have a build that happens to be able to run shaper or uber atziri then cool, but Ill always limit myself to self found sets and if I never beat it then Im not gonna lose sleep over it. Thats my take on it. Theres builds out there, the guides are on the forums, the theory is there to build your own around, if you want a dedicated shaper or uber killer then you can put together the lego set and easy mode the content. Thats not rly something I find interesting tbh, those fights are a single question and theres a single easy answer, the math has been done, anyone who wants it can apply it. Mapping is so diverse that its hard to have an easy answer for everything with a single build. If you start from an idea rather than trying to answer that question, like lets make a crit sword spell block aegis duelist youll probably never find an easy answer to all of mapping, thats the endgame I find interesting and thats where youll always find me grinding away. Builds born from ideas designed to take on as much of what maps have to offer within the confines of the original idea.

You should always have someone in your guild or friends list ready to help you out on your attempts that way if you get down to your last portal you can always have them finish it up for you and at least salvage the set so you dont completely lose out on the run. Hell message me or send my a friend request in game im on in the afternoons and weekends i'll clean up your runs for you and bring out your loot hell I do it all the time for people in my guild and friends list. Atleast you dont completely lose the run and loot.

And practice makes perfect. The biggest thing is having enough damage to make shaper go down fast enough you dont get overwhelmed by the degens on the ground. And placing them close to the outside of the arena to give yourself room to move around is critical. The more you do it the better you will get but most likely its a damage issue. You REALLY need an unreal amount of damage to take shaper down. He has an absolute massive health pool. And the longer it takes to get him down the more messy the fight can get.
