i mean come on dude. the fact that this is GGG's game and they literally own every aspect from the ground up didn't tell you that they are always watching? private channels just means that other player cant interrupt you. GGG owning everything can do whatever they please.

Sinds when have we become so ok whit this tho? I for one think private messages should be just that private unless one of the 2 ppl involved reports the other for one reason or the other.
Saying that its ggg platform doesnt make it right either thats like saying its ok for your provider to listen in to your phonecalls (which i am sure they do anyway).
So yeah they prob do it and eventhough i am aware of this and cant do anything about it i am certainly not ok whit this.

i would say you became ok with this somewhere around the data collection sections of the terms of use.

thats a non-point. i would have been banned long ago if that would be the case. i extensively discussed macros, rmt and botting with friends, and we are all still here.

That just suggests that the chat log is what prompted them to look into it. Not that they banned you just because you talked about it... Regardless, you broke the rules. You literally don't have a leg to stand on in this argument. Not only did you cheat, you openly admit to it.

Not to mention the fact that I have made plenty of RMT jokes with friends, and never once been banned, muted, etc.

going as far as using 3d party software to insert random delays into macros is next-level cheating. in order to justify doing that, someone must either have money to gain (streamers) or be a very sorry loser.

i'm a newbie, it took me 3+ tries to get my cruel lab because i did it underleveled, and i was drinking all my potions at once while fighting Azaro. with one hand. had my four fingers on the 1234, the index can press 4 and 5 at once. boom. no macro needed.

nearly EVERY more or less gaming oriented input hardware comes with software capable of mapping macros to keys. many gamers use various types of macros in gaming, depending on their personal playing taste, and drawing the line between "facilitating gameplay" and "cheating" is not always easy. In this case, GGG draws the line for us: 1 server command per action. basta.

i think at the end of the day, the real question is, how much of a gamer are you? how much into the game are you? do you feel that something in the game is somehow unfair to you and justifies using software to add an 'edge' to compensate? if that is the case maybe you should play a different build. or play another game. in the first paragraph, i said that some people may have actual monetary gain from 'cheating', and that is a whole different story - but it doesn't apply to you, so nevermind them. you have no proof that people who use macros don't get banned - simply because you've never met any - for all you know GGG randomly targets players who's clients do suspicious inputs, and for all you know, getting banned might only be a question of time.

how long ago? maybe it was before they started scanning chatlogs.

im not whining and tbh i dont really care about the permaban because i already completed all content, 36 challengepoints etc. and already gave away my whole stash to new players

would just be nice to know the exact reason for the ban and why GGG bans accounts by looking at chatlogs

banning people with the reason "breaching ToU" is just lazy

actually the terms of use says "no automated software" which if you are using a macro to push multiple buttons with 1 button as you admitted to doing then you are automating. you breached the ToU. they monitored that chat and only had to find you actually doing it which you likely did within that 12 hours.

Ok, so I didn't read 7 pages of replies....but how do you know the "new player" didn't report your message?

I'll say it again since OP dose not seem to get it, the ToS you signed gives them the right to terminate your account at any time for any reason justified or not.

You can play dumb all you like but that won't change...nor are GGG obligated to explain themselves to you, and everyone you are going to get a reply from here dose not give a fuck if a self confessed cheat is banned
