GGG copied the artwork for the Yeti mask

The yeti mask didn't look that good in my opinion anyways (at least not something I would go out and buy right away..)

Did you miss the memo? Most of the items and armor in-game are based on real items. Any of these helmets look familiar to you? http://www.darkknightarmoury.com/c-80-medieval-helmets.aspx?pagenum=1

Now they got it coming. You dont fuck with a blacksmith from medieval times and their airtight copyright laws.

This thread actually made my day bearable. So I'm telling you, for no reason at all.

Intellectual property is pretty messy area. Usually, the actual author should be flattered as when others are following your steps (or "steal your ideas", pick your poison), it means you are doing it right.

And I doubt GGG made a fortune on the mask, anyway. I do find the real life pointers appealing, if anything, I hope they'll do more real-life based models. Hint : Slavic mythology

Its impossible for them to deny that the mask they made is anywhere near an original thought.
The position of all the horns and their shapes are pretty much identical. Same with the nose and the tongue(including its position). Not only did they copy it, they sold it for profit. Nice job GGG, now you can add thievery to your resume.

You are a thief. Your post is a blatant example of plagiarism. Every word of your post can be found in a published book: The Dictionary.

Missing the point I think.
One item comes from the game which is free.

The other is a mtx. So GGG making bucks outta it.

That's pretty much the only thing OP is whinning about.
I kinda aggree with the fact that GGG should had where do they take inspiration from when SELLING mtx.

For me as a bavarian it was quite obvious where they took their inspiration from. The problem is: the mask is styled in a very traditional and typical way. And the yeti-thing is not EXACTLY the same. So it only uses "cultural" inspiration in my opinion. Or to put it that way: the creator of the mask in the OP also copied ;)
Anyways. I think it is a cool thing that GGG uses real-life-models as inspirations or that they copy styles of real ancient armor into this game. I did not know that (tralking about abyssus or the burgeonet). I like it. It's cool ... as long as it does not clash with real and sincere copyright-issues off course.
The Sirus fight is a disgrace.

Both items comes from over a hundred years ago creator.

That's pretty much the only thing copyright law cares about.
I kind agree that despite copyright law releasing creations into the public domain when it is ancient history, it would be nice to show where inspiration came from in ALL cases, because history is amazing.
