To my experience and knowledge most of the people who get hacked they have only themselves to blame. The rest could be naive and dont know what they are doing but you could still be honest with yourself about it and ask for help. We all have that one tech savvy friend so give him/her a call and thats the end of it.

Get a free virtual machine program like Oracle Virtual Box or VMware player and surf untrusted web sites with a Linux distro if you use Windows.

I've been doing this since WinXP.

And disable PDF auto-download/open in your browser.

I actually got a virus pop-up from an ad in yahoo mail. I was like wtf, is nothing safe anymore.

Yup nothing is safe unless you make it. Sad but true. Linux for main windows(bootleg) for games. >:)
