This is unfortunately still approximately a week away, so in the meantime make sure to avoid falling into the common traps that people use to scam passwords (discussed in this thread and here.

Almost every account compromise that we've investigated in depth has eventually led back to one of those causes where people are unsafe with their computers or passwords. It's generally people running exploit/hack software in most cases. I wish there was more we could do to help protect users in the very short term but our new security features I mentioned above are coming along well and we'll deploy them as soon as they work reliably.

At this point, the only websites I visited this morning are poe.com and d2jsp.com. I also did a google search for item suffixes and affixes which led me to a poe.com site. I highly doubt any of these websites were the cause of my virus.

By the way, the password request new password request is taking forever to come in my email and they're still on my account clearing items..

Not saying that a random trojan virus isn't the issue, but I'm going to quote this from Chris:

It's also good to mention that your everyday trojan virus probably gives two shits about your game account - phishing/trojans/random viruses from random applications/etc care more about your demographic information and email accounts/bank accounts/etc to both distribute their malware abroad and sell your personal information to telemarketers, etc.

The people that WOULD care about your path of exile account are 3rd party POE websites, applications, etc that require you to login - as I'm sure a majority of the population uses the same username and password for everything. You also have problems with PoE with stored passwords, etc but I won't get into that.

A website based around illegal transactions probably wouldn't be the safest place to log into with any account credentials. Just saying.
