Change to the gem experience progression

Farming zones at 100% exp effectiveness and 0 deaths will get you level 19 gems at level 84 with this change, but you will have to get level 100 and then farm some more to get to gem level 20 which is crazy imo

Again, this is misconception. Gems always get 100% experience, they are not impacted by experience penalty players have to deal with.

You currently need approximately 147m exp. for 19 to 20, so adding extra 100m prolong the leveling by 2/3.

How is this a misconception? I specifically stated "zones at 100% exp effectiveness". This might not be possible right now but who knows how endgame is in the expansion. Probably still not possible but I doubt you will get level 20 gems before level 98
Gcp price will go up. Good change, it was too easy to get q20 gems due to the recipie.

You already have to level them twice.

no you don't, you can always use gemcutter prisms.

Good luck finding enough GCPs to quality all your gems... That's exactly the reason we have to level the gems twice - GCPs are too scarce.

What are you talking about? You need almost 100mxp more for 1-20, that's crazy. Only those that quit chars around 70 might be happy.

It seems easier to get to level 19 and gets harder from there. I'm fine with that given the fact that level 80+ maps will be in the game. If you do some Uber runs (if you haven't already) you'll understand what this means in terms of xp. Seems just a balance move to me. The time to get a level 20 gem should stay roughly the same.

Hi,

You're wrong.

If you're going to make an argument, elaborating on why might be useful. Otherwise...you are wrong.

Another lame change. Takes me now to get to like 88-89 just for 20 then I have to quality them and run starts all over. so about 92-93. Not many even lvl to high 80s let alone mid 90s. Seriously not even looking forward to 2.0.

Progression to first 20 should be faster than q20 1-20. This way your average play through could feel full 20 power of a gem but not quality.

Agreed. If they implement this change, it would be another low blow to soloing players. It is bad enough already that people playing in parties are at such a huge advantage in regards to quantity of drops, but then on top of that gems requiring even more experience to level will further gimp soloing players.

One positive would be that leveled gems would be more scarce and more valuable, but then that again would be another massive advantage to those partying all of the time.

I get that GGG want to incentivize partying in the game, but many of us do not have the time or resources to play late game map rotations with others and soloing is our best option.
Still in the alpha stage, but at least build diversity isn't an issue: https://wolcengame.com/home/
