About to start using Global 820 for the first time.

So if I was offering someone looking for the Trial of Piercing Truth, and not requiring tips, how would I post? Or would I even do that there?

Yes, you can. Tips, by definition, are optional, and are given out of generosity, while fees are paid out of necessity. If you wouldn't mind a few currency donations, but still want to share in Global 820, adding something like "tips appreciated" is absolutely fine. In fact, you'll often be surprised by what people are willing to give, even without being asked.
Just make sure that those tips are indeed optional. If you ask for "required tips: 2c", well, that just isn't a tip anymore. And that belongs in Trade.

Got a message from moderation last time i writed tips appreciated in harbringer league.
Never shared any challenges since.
I think if it's moderated it's then official, and then 820 channels and their functions / limits should be clarified by GGG in an official document to avoid confusion.

Another thing that make it hard to explain players how does this channel work is rules arn't showed anywhere ingame, remember that most of players won't ever put their feet on forum or reddit, i often see rude comment regarding those who don't respect rules, but they are basicly showed nowhere. This is a problem of common sense i think. First time i heard about 820 was in global chat 1 i jumped in but had no idea there was anything else to know that's it.

Would it be possible to add a chat command to see rules or a MOTD at least ?

Well 820 isn't a special channel with special rules in the eyes of GGG, but trade vs general does have rules, mainly that general isn't a trade channel, so maybe GGG feels like suggesting tips is too close to trading.

It is. You can get muted for saying things in 820 that would be welcome elsewhere.

This is exactly what 820 is for. I would type something like this into chat:

Trial of Piercing Truth free, not completed, 3 ports open

Or post something like

Trial of Piercing Truth, free, completed, 4 ports open.

Depending on whether the trial had been run and how many ports were still up in the map.

I remember in previous leagues never seeing a certain shrine needed for a challenge. After someone in 820 kindly shared that missing shrine, it seemed like I started seeing them pop up in my games, so I could share them in 820.

My experience there has been overwhelmingly good. You may get the occasional annoying person that doesn't want to follow channel rules.

I only go on Global/Trade 820 for Uberlab trials.

Don't mind me, just venting.
This particular league, i have gone for more than 50 trials without ever getting piercing truth.
I had 3 characters at 86, 87, 91 before finally giving up and getting external help.
Additional info, after finishing my uberlab, i have gone on another 20'ish trials before finally finding my own piercing truth. While i understand RNG can be brutal, this is the first time it has ever happened to me and it's frustrating.
Previous leagues i have always been able to complete the 6 uberlab trials within ~30 trials.

On topic, i do share my trials from time to time depending on mood, people are usually generous and will tip even if you don't ask for it.
