Why keeping death characters in Hardcore?

That they simply moved characters to standard when they died is the reason I even tried it out in the first place. I now play almost only hardcore, I would've never learned that I like it if not for this.

I feel really dishonored, it's like "Hey dude, you failed with the pros, now you gonna play with the noobs"... I prefered to delete my character than to play in normal league...

GGG, allows you to perform an honorable harakiri on your character.
Economy
It struck me as odd initially, too (coming from D2 HC), but I've gotten used to it. In the end, it provides incentive to try out a HC league, and it only matters in an economical sense: people selling their stuff in Standard and using the currency to buy things in HC.

But other than that, it doesn't make a huge difference. Most HC players don't want to play in a softcore league anymore as the thrill can be quite addictive, so characters either rot or get deleted. I kind of like the setup. I almost always start new characters in HC now and if they live, good, I may get closer to that L90 HC achievement. If not, I'll eventually get around to doing something with them in Standard.

I sort of look at HC as missions in alien space: Those who fail get sent back to the home base.
It ams of making you stronkier of spirit to be of deleting your failure yourself.
Softcore league have different gameplay than hardcore , you can test every build you want, even broken , you can test every boss without fear to dye .

I love both Hardcore and Softcore.

In softcore the pleasure is in loot, killing monsters trying some without lot of life to see if i can kill ... loose xp ... a lot :D but it is funny.

In hardcore is different the pleasure is in survive , make choice : not open this strongbox , run away far from exile too dangerous ...

And me i like to can play again my characters HC died , you have only to clic on delete if you want ....
I'm not dumb as you think, and this only because i said that sofcore gamers are noobs, but it's not really what i wanted to say. Of course, i don't have the right to tell that SC players are noobs, i just wanted to show my disappointment with an exemple.

So, i ask to you : If you were pro in boxing, for exemple, and you lost a match, and then you are retrograded from the beginning of your list. You have to start everything again, and fight again against the one you have defeated before, and this only because you lost your latch match. Do you really prefer to keep boxing and restart since the beginning, or you want to stop and try another sport?

It's the same case here. Of course, the mechacic is practical because you can still try new builds, etc... but what hurts me is that I don't see the difference between HC and SC now. It's too "nice" to encourage people to keep playing in SC games. And you can understand this is harder to delete ourself a character than to see him unplayable forever.

I'm sorry for the term "noob". I used only for the exemple and i haven't any intention to hurt people. I just want to explain my opinion about this thing, and i hope that someone can understand maybe that i'm right to be a little too hard to think HC characters should stay dead.

The mechanic is there for people who say invest like 500 hours in a HC character and then IF the unfortunate happens you can still choose to play are atleast look at your old HC character that died if you so choose!

I like this... if i invest hundreds of hours in a character and he dies i would atleast like to be able to still show him off if i so choose!

And if you want the HC D3 feel you can always go to you character selection screen and erase them forever... its all about choice and at least GGG gives us one!

Besides its kinda nice to be able to take that dead HC character and still be able to do something with him besides look at him an a graveyard!

There is a fine line between Consideration and Hesitation.
The former is Wisdom, the latter is Fear.
