Can Spell Totem CRIT if you have resolute technique picked?
It makes your skills unable to crit and totem casts your skills so they are unable to crit as well. Blind should work with firestorm.

" The totem casts as though you are casting the spell yourself. Therefore it uses your stats. If you cannot crit, neither can the totem. |

It's they (traps, totems, minions) who deal damage. But totems use your spells/attacks, exactly as they are. Example:
You stack crit chance, totems use your crit chance. You remove your crit chance, totems still use your crit chance - which is now zero. | |

Although I suppose the freeze duration follows the damage? "Because that's not what is says - it says you cannot deal damage with skills yourself. You can deal damage with skills used via other entities (totems/traps/mines). Resolute technique just says you can't crit, this is not restricted to critting with skills yourself, you simply can't crit at all. This includes skills used through other entities. Few more follow-up questions though: Is each projectile for firestorm a "separate" entity for the 5% base crit and thus also separate for status alignments? How is the shock / burning / freezing duration calculated? I mean, I expect that the freezing is more like a ministun, if the cold damage (with crit) is 10 damage vs L70 monster? But can a shock really last only 0.01s? Is there some minimum amount of time? And how about burning? Crits are rolled per-cast; if one fireball in a Storm crits, they all do.
The Mechanics thread in Beta General has all the information on Status Ailments you could need :) Quick and dirty; you need to hit a minimum duration for Shock, Chill and Freeze to apply in the first place, and the duration is based on target's Max Life. Burning always lasts 4 seconds. Firestorm is really shitty for inflicting Status Ailments. |
