Can Spell Totem CRIT if you have resolute technique picked?

Can Spell Totem CRIT if you have resolute technique -keystone picked (your attacks cannot miss, you cannot crit)?

I am using Spell Totem with Firestorm, with added lightning damage - and was planning add cold damage there too. I know the status alignments can only proc if you CRIT.

...but when I am using firestorm with Spell Totem, and the spell totem is the actual source - I should be able to crit, right?


I mean, that's the reason why traps works as well, when you pick the +1 totem -skill, which prevents YOU dealing damage by skills.

Totems and traps are counted as separate source. Am I correct here?

Your totems won't crit. But:

There are nodes that let you apply status alignments without having to crit. E.g. Static Blows (top left of the tree next to Minion Instability)

How sure are you about that? What's the logic?

I am not the totem. "YOU cannot crit."

Why can you deal damage with totems and traps, when you pick the +1 extra totem that prevents you dealing damage via skills then?

Hm you are right, I'm not so sure anymore :)
But don't spells always hit anyways? Unless you have summons, RT wouldn't do anything for you.

They do. But I am not a spell caster, but a melee infernal blow templar instead. Idea was to use the spell totem to inflict burning, shock and chilled & frozen, as the firestorm has massive amount of projectiles to "proc" those.
