Melee claw in need of AoE ability

"
With a +8 life on hit claw you are getting 16 life with every hit you get with Whirling so I just warp around in a pack of mobs and regen life faster than they can dish it out; at the end I dual strike the last couple of them.

Actually, this as exactly what I do at Level 52. Once getting Leech-claws, link a Life on Hit to your skills and you can continue doing this.
Sorry Exile, but your loot is in another dungeon!

Hello!

I'm currently playing a dual claw shadow as well. The single target DPS is really good. Like you, I use the combo of dual strike and viper strike to melt down named mobs. For AoE I use a combination of fire trap and freezing pulse while I run around baiting attacks while the fire eats away at them. For groups of archers I use the same tactic to peel of health and then Flicker Strike to close the gap fast and avoid as much arrows as possible. I'm also on the way to try the arrow dodge keystone so can move around more easily.

I'm also focused on evasion and health. I have a bit of energy shield but it's not the priority. From my personal experience, being always on the move is the key for an evasion build.

On a side note, if a skill that would allow the character to perform kicks and acrobatic stuff I would love to use the dodge keystones to create a monk like character. That would be awesome! :D

Loved that one in Neverwinter Nights. I'd go for it! :)

Claws/Daggers will have an AoE soon, GGG have said that multiple times.
For now, as others said here, either take whirling blades, or use lightning strike. Link those skills with Life on Hit or Life Leech and you'll be fine. If your DPS is good enough, you could just kill mobs one by one using Dual Strike + Life Leech.

Evasion? You get crucified in act 3 normal

Dual-Wield is not viable, Evasion is even less playable.

Evasion is as viable as any other defense, you just have to make a proper build.

If you play a pure evasion build, even with high HP and/or ES, you will very likely get one shot in Merciless Act 3 or maps. Things do hit for 3k+ even on characters with moderately high armor. There are also unique/rare monsters with the affix "Hits accurately", so if you're going to attempt this route be extremely cautious of this affix.
