Drop rates during the course of PoE

Bout the same for currency but worse for uniques I think. But I'm not willing to bet my head on it.
Be ready. You're not paranoid, you're PREPARED.

I quit this game every few months and so should you to continue playing it in the future.

The device is believed to have been dropped

I am wondering what people think. Especially the closed beta players.

Are the current drop rates of currency and good items...

1. Lower than closed beta drop rates.

2. The same as closed beta drop rates.

3. Higher than closed beta drop rates.

What do you think?

Go!

The same, if not slightly better, never ran IIR/IIQ during the year of closed beta nor during open beta and the drops for currency and items don't seem to have changed.

During domination i managed to get some good uniques while leveling and 3 exalts playing self found, the exalts are something that i've virtually never had since starting playing and to get 3 of the blighters before getting to level 60 was good RNG for me.

They also increased the drop rates on Piety and Dominus from cruel, and now you have strongboxes.
Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

He who controls the pants controls the galaxy. - Rick & Morty S3E1
I read that as drop rates during intercourse.
If I tell you that the big chestsin CB were like strongboxes without enemies then you will be shocked.

Currency is the only thing that stayed the same.

If they had improved I wouldn't have quit so fast.

Also there was a time in CB when rare and uniques mobs never could drop worse than blue items.
Well now they can drop whites....

Oh, forgot about those!

I haven't seen one yet since the corrupted zones have been added.

You haven't missed anything.
Correct the last time they were good was in CB after that they were like regular chests dropping more junk guarded by champs.

Uniques drop more often, everything else is about the same.

If the number of possible unique items becomes larger then the probability that one will drop becomes higher too.

Without trading, closed beta definitely had better results from both mob drops and chest drops.

Maybe the rates were higher because so few played at the time. *shrug*

It's always been a loot fest when partying compared to solo, particularly low/mid orbs, that hasn't changed much.

One thing that absolutely killed gear drops was the inclusion of mostly useless mods on gear. The inclusion got a harsh reception, but GGG insisted that these mods were vital for POE.

I don't much play maps or ever have as I don't like the mechanics behind them and usually abandon characters when they reach that content so I don't much have an opinion on that.

From a solo self found point of view, everything is at an all time low, gear upgrades are weaker and less frequent, self found builds are completely uncomparable to CB self found builds as they've been hit hardest with nerf after nerf after nerf and mostly rendered to a handfull of game finishing builds, and that's only if you get real lucky.

To sum up,Closed Beta was an entirely different beast to what we play today and in my opinion was a far superior ARPG than it is currently.

PS: Oh and yeah, those chests,I miss em. =P

Because of equal chances on mods it wasn't difficult to alch/chaos a 350+ dmg Karui maul during a 1 week race for example.
Now the higher the level req the harder it is to roll the mod so you are mostly finding junk or rolling junk.

Is that really so? If so that may explain why its so hard to roll a good rare.
If I had to guess I'd say drops are better now. My characters seem better geared than they used to be through 99% self-found play. Who knows though, rng is rng.
