GGG why did you nerf Flameblast?

since GGG nurfs everything ppl QQ about.

You'd have to be really dumb not to see this nerf coming. I thought something strange was up - I was OHKOing normal Merveil and Cruel Piety with my flameblast character.

If the patch was in effect last night when I played, then I don't even feel the nerf in Merciless. I'm still OHKOing just about everything if I hit stage 3-5.

I do think it should have exponential growth though, not linear. It's 110% more every stage when it should be something like 20,40,80,160,320,640, etc. - this would really incentivize build-ups rather than burps.

Currently, a little crit + a little crit mult + chance to ignite is sufficient to destroy almost anything with ease.

Its current state is very fun, but it puts firestorm and fireball to absolute shame.

I planned to play a flameblast build on ambush before sotv, I thought it was insane and incredibly fun but not just because of the broken damage, it's just a fun skill and a nice change from my standard incinerator.

Am I gonna quit using flameblast now? No. Cause a 30% nerf really doesn't matter. If anything, I'm glad they buffed it instead of completely undoing the bug.

But that versatility is why the skill is so cool :( There's already an extra 10% per stage, which is enough to make build-ups worth it imo. Especially for burns.

They already did nerf it

Besides, neither Flicker or Flameblast deserve a nerf. Crazy skills like Flicker make PoE cool. And both have downsides, Flameblast is slow and Flicker gives you severe headaches. Keep cool skills, buff bad skills, sadly GGG has yet to understand this. GGG since release = nerf to entire game. Cant wait to see what skills will go the way of spork in 1.2.0, pretty soon we'll be all expected to play Spectral Throw.

That is an unfair statment because it fails to take into account why ggg nerfed these skills.

Like it or dont, path of exile is balanced around certain dps thresholds.
And passing these thresholds breaks the game in a method that is unfair to to others.

case in point the coc discharge , flicker , flame blast , righteous fire and Burned miscreaions.

Say what you want about them , one thing they all had in common at high levels is that they could easily enable a character to break 100k sustained dps which is just absurd.

No build should be able to do that , no build needs to do that. and certainly most builts cant reach that. The game just is not balanced for it
