No sound driver detected.

Same problem here. Run as admin = still random events of no sound. Running on steam instead of classic client = same problem.

Adding the sound bs to the end of the command line in the shortcut properties = no fix.

Seriously, this is a bug that has been around for almost 6 months now that needs to get fixed ASAP.

I was coming back after a few months off, updated to latest version and have no sound now. I don't use steam version, however I may try it to see if I have any luck. I use my built in sound on my motherboard, no creative card. Tried run as admin, command line fixes...nothing works. D3 for now unfortunately... Really wanted to try this Rampage league.

Not sure if the cause is the same, but I also keep having this no sound driver detected problem intermittently. As far as I can tell there is no trigger (it just randomly loads properly or doesn't), but the one thing I do notice is that when it loads properly the load screen stays up about twice as long as when it fails. It's gotten to the point where I don't even have to listen for sound when I boot PoE up, I can tell just by the loading time whether it's a hit or a miss. That said, it misses about 50% of the time, which is getting quite annoying so a fix would be much appreciated.

I got the same problem, but it doesn't occur that often. Restarting the Client always works for me.

I just got this problem -- March 6, 2015 --- No Devices in the Device field for sound.

This problem still plagues me as of 1.3.1d, and I have yet to find a workaround.

I have this problem as well and have been unable to find a resolution. I've tried everything posted in the forums here and some suggestions I found on Reddit. It always shows no devices in the devices field and a message saying no sound driver detected. Tried loading from steam and loading from client.

I'm on the Steam client and found that if I plug my headphones in as the client loads I get this issue. The only way to fix it is restarting completely closing the steam and reloading. This might help some of you out.

OK, bump because this issue is still around. It doesn't seem to be happening quite so often anymore but it still decides to rear its ugly head on occasion (or maybe I'm just not logging in that often). I've finally found a definite (albeit non-exclusive) trigger though: on the rare occasion that PoE hard-crashes on me for some reason at least one subsequent login attempt will be plagued by this issue. So far the only solution still seems to be to restart the client until it fixes itself. Still using the standalone client.
