If you have lag/connectivity issues making the game unplayable/annoying, post here and be counted.

I agree that we should give them some time to work things out. It's obvious the game has received a lot more attention than was anticipated, and they are doing their best with what they have to work with. However, I do believe we should voice any problems we experience, whether they have been mentioned already or not. That is also part of a beta.
It's not allowing me to create a new character, every time i try it says opperation timed out >_>
Okay so I disconnected and now I cannot reconnect it simply says
-authenticating user
-operation timed out
-an unexpected disconnect occurred

I'm having the exact same problem right now. Playing with 2 friends, one was able to login right away. Two of us are having the above issue.

same problem
Ping test to Germany rated A, all other online games work without lag, PC is OK.

Load of small spikes and lag, hits don't register and then will catch up a few seconds later, same with inventory click nothing happens after a few seconds it will pick up what ever I clicked in the past.

Read Toms reply, thanks for input devs fingers crossed it's fixed soon.

we seriously have to have an idea what "soon" means for this issue...
I think we have an answer. They are working on it and SERIOUSLY give them some time.

DCs were every 40 sec this morning. Just pulling back and giving them some space.

Edit... and don't add me to your bitching list.

Sure its been said before - but this is an open BETA - that means its a work in progress - on top of that its a FREE TO PLAY game as well. Cut them a little slack. No matter what people will complain about a GAME! Even a FREE ONE! And isn't this the first or second week of the open beta? Come one folks, give it a rest, go outside, enjoy some snowboarding or something.. :)

I don't know if you are current to the gaming market or not, but open betas and soft launches are just as much marketing tools now, as they are tests. Complaining about lag, is indeed, feedback. And the more vocal people are about things, the more easily it is to shift the weight of the problem from "Lets put it in the middle of the list behind (X and Y Bug Here)" to "Man, this is ruining a lot of peoples views on the game. Maybe we should figure this out fast, or at least discuss where we are progress wise with this certain issue with the public."

FYI, this is the latter. CB didn't have these issues nearly as badly, so obviously the server load is getting its butt kicked, but considering we haven't heard what their plans are for either hardware upgrades, or some sort of software wizardy to combat this, of course it is a concern for anyone who wants to put time, or in cases like mine, lots of money into it.

"THIS IS A BETA" is not a valid argument anymore. This is in Open Beta phase. They were comfortable with letting anyone get their hands on it, and from here on, it is just polish phase. This is what can either spread the word and keep their launch strong, or make people lose interest.

So an update on an issue killing the enjoyment of a bulk of players would be useful to keep them around.

What on bloody earth is so hard to understand?

...maybe why the problem has been going on for this long? People have been pointing it out since Day 1, but it was neither acted nor responded on until after a few days when the point was hammered through again and again on the forums. In fact, it seems like the problem has been getting worse.

The best thing you can do is report your bug ONCE, make sure to describe PRECISELY what's wrong.

That won't work. It took days of hammering the point through by many people before anyone from GGG responded to it, so obviously posting it just once isn't enough.

I'm sorry that you are experiencing so many issues with lag and disconnects, but I have to point out that you are grossly exaggerating a few things here. First when you say "why the problem has been going on for this long?" I feel like you don't realize how much time it takes to order server hardware, wait for it to be delivered and then stay in contact with your server hosting company to make sure that it all gets set up correctly. 5 days is really not a long time. Patience is a virtue. This is not the first game to experience unexpected demand during launch, and it wont be the last.

As for your second claim. It didn't take "days of hammering the point through" for GGG to realize there was a problem. In fact, they recognized they were going to be experiencing more players than they planned for a couple days before Open Beta started due to the incredible amounts of traffic that the website was getting. They have also been very very vocal about all the stability issues (which includes the lag and disconnects that you keep insisting are a seperate issue) and in some cases have literally been keeping us updated hour by hour.

The developers even took the time to respond to you directly in those PMs and on this forum, and yet you still want to keep beating your dead horse and pretending that they are not working hard enough on the issue or communicating with us enough about these problems. Honestly, if they spent any more time keeping us updated they wouldn't have any time left to actually work on the game.

Again, it sucks that you have experienced so many problems, but you are simply not being fair in your portrayal of how GGG has been communicating with the community during this rough time.
