PoE Needs Unique Loot Tables

If you're suggesting that GGG would have to give out the info on what mob has an additional chance to drop what, their current policy with such things is to let the community figure it out. Given a high enough chance to drop X, I'm sure the community would figure it out sooner or later.


They don't have a current policy, and figuring out a policy that has a strong foundation would require a lot of worktime, that's why they simply don't touch the subject at all.

You can get ilvl78 Crown of Thorns. That's the "fun" part of PoE.
And <50 ilvl (uniq or not) armor, which you'd like to 6Link.

P.S. GGG already tried to "invent fun for players" - sure, they throw bunch of uniques into "only-map-drop" loottable
A lot of players were really unhappy with it.
In short, result was opposite of the expected.
And now you're asking to even more "bind" loot to certain map\boss\monster. Hell no.


I agree with this...yet once you hit maps and higher lvl maps...the old content is a waste of time. It would be really cool if Vaal had something (small chance of course) that could drop that you can't get from anywhere else. This could be a cosmetic change, something like maybe a pet or just a strip on your toon or a title. Doesn’t have to be an item, you know.

GGG put a lot of effort into all the acts, it just a shame there isn’t really any reason to go back, besides just farming for currency.

I just think there could be more added to the acts to keep them fresh.

I'm not saying that I want to play D2. If I did, I would be. That being said, you can't deny that PoE is HEAVILY influenced by D2, so why not take some inspiration from some stronger points of the game? And never once did I say you should "bind" loot to anywhere or anyone. I said that certain item classes should have higher chances to drop on certain bosses.

I fail to see how giving players more options for farming could be detrimental. It wouldn't be "inventing" fun; people are already farming and enjoy other acts besides 3/maps, they would bring the fun themselves.
I face tank dominus on merci without needs to move he deal to me so litte dmg with my hp almost all time 100% (1 hp ftw) is that bad ? ;o

I don't much see the appeal of going back to run content I can do in my sleep. I care more about having access to harder areas that can drop better things. At the moment, it is just a huge hassle to maintain a proper map pool. Even then, the maps are mostly a snorefest until the boss, and even then, only some bosses.
I guess I've never been much of a farmer though.

well i think the problem is the way the game is, its a smash'em with very little micro management with impresize movement calculation once you gear(math is in your favor) its just a faceroll or WTF i died moment because you are not really in control of your character in a sens that damage is unavoidable and you cant garanteed that you will hit (unless specced) comparatively to a game like dark soul...

so the only to make a game like this challenging would be to slow the pace of gameplay, and add more micro management this way you can scale easily the difficulty content , but it is really what we want :)

but in other hand maybe in your case, you just played too much and topped until new content get out :D

between dark soul 2 11th march :) good time to take a break from PoE until more new content:D

You're obviously a high-level player if map-pool is an issue for you. While a lot of forum-active players are at that level, and more visible, keep in mind a large part of the player base is not. But if we think about your situation, you really have two options at this point: wait for them to add new content, or run content that you feel is generally easy. New content is great, I won't argue that, but takes significant amounts of time to implement. Until then, wouldn't you rather be able to pick what boring content to run based on what you need?
