Baleful Gem quest bug

I have been to this area before with a party. When I started my own party to complete this quest there was no gem drop. Player in my party pointed me to the new instance option. Which I tried from Chamber of Sin door 2.
This did not work. I tried it again, just by myself from Chamber of sine door 2. This did not work. I ran from the encampment, click on each map before entering for a new instance. All the way to the third level of the Chamber of sin. This did not work. Please advise. Played via Steam... Dernier bump le 11 sept. 2016 à 17:11:58

I am clicking on the strange device after killing the monsters in that area. Including the mini boss / boss. Is Fidelitas his name? Not sure, was too busy running away shooting him with arrows.

Yes, I am sure. Helena still asking me if I have the gem and the quest is still active in the 'u' menu.
I even double check every item in my stash and equipment, to say with a much certainty as I can. I have no gem. No gem has dropped for me. I even tried every way I can think of to get this mission to work. Including starting again from the encampment and CTRL clicking on each new entrance and asking for a new instance. To make sure that the party results were not messing with my questing. Played via Steam...

Have you tried opening the tree roots with only the item (Miligaro's spike or something like that) for Weavers chamber? Maybe it will work as if you had the gem.

Can not open the roots, till I have completed the 'Root of the problem' quest. Which requires me to get the Baleful gem.
Plus I do not have spike either. Played via Steam...

"My suggestion was to get the spike and try to cut the roots. If it's not giving you the gem and behaving as it would if you already had it, maybe it will let you do the rest as if you already had it as well. P.s. you don't need to talk to NPC to be given quests or to do most of them. You could do most of the game never talking to an NPC, with the exceptions being when they need to give you an item like keys for the sewers. I'd stop worrying about the quest log and just try to progress and see if it's still bugged. I guess I give it a try, were do i find the spike?

Head west out of town to the Dark Forest (or whatever they call it these days - the second area west of town) and find the Weaver's chamber. The boss drops the spike.
