The End of CBT

I guess it was a good way to out the kinky freaks vs the vanillas :P

My beloved pets....
CBT was so good. Im sad it has to end. I cant wait for whats to come though. -_-

I also remember the day one unexpected email told me I had been choosen. That was about 5 months after my registration and I had nearly given up hope.

And the first time I faced prison warder, the first time I entered sirens cove and beat her only to find she had even the second and true form. That was all great moment I so missed back to the day of diablo 1.
Best moment for me is without any questions first time they introduced prison level. It had SO much of a D2 feel i almost cried

edit - yea i think none of us relize that OB will be huge and unfiltered noob pool. Public chat will never be the same friendly place again :(

Also. I think all of us realise. We've all got our own ideas of how to cope. Some of us will just stay out of global til Cruel, knowing anybody that far as quickly as us -must- know how to play. Some will stand in Global, trying to answer questions and divert traffic. Some amongst us will -have- to. I don't envy the mods.

But yeah. I'll be amongst those trying to answer as many questions as I can. And divert traffic around the obvious trolls. For those without the willpower to keep your calm. I implore you, please take the first option.

Regardless of whether they 'could've bought a supporter pack'. There will be players who actually -want- to play and have waited a while. Amongst the gaggled mass of 1-sessioners and trolls.

Ed: As for my CBT moment? When I joined, realised this was something I'd wanted without knowing it. When I got into the community, and liked it. All of it. Whether it's the friendly types, eager to help anybody. Whether it's those crazy mathmeticians, capable of just ripping open the mechanics of Path of Exile, leaving it all bare. The competitive types. The innovative types, making their own builds, crazy builds that everybody notices.

When I sunk into the lore of the world, tried to study it as much as possible, and felt inspired. Those crazy RNG moments. Three uniques before I even got to Act 2. That unique you cherish, regardless of the stats, because of how long you've had it for.

The game is wonderful. The community widens the range, it's varied. We argue. Our discussions get heated. But who doesn't? We've got our own community, we've got the young ones, eager to learn, fumbling around with the sticks they're given. Some of them make fire. We've got the community figures. Maybe it's because they're a friendly face, maybe they're just active and outspoken, maybe they're crazy mathsheads.

This game has a lovely, active community, where you come to recognise names. To the point where something that would be impersonal, often feels like a chat between friends. Basically? The community makes and breaks this game. OB will tilter that scale. And it's up to those that know how good it is, to keep it that way.

Halt the whip, halt the stones. Trolls will be Trolls, but you don't fight them with fire. This community, more than others I've seen, seems capable of surviving the transition to OB. Just don't give up on it. We'll see new faces. Grabbing at sticks, and it's a fault in logic to think none of them will make fire.

Erm... *gets off the soapbox* Well. Sorry about that.

Oddly enough, I received my key during the first stress test weekend. Thankfully so.

Just watching and playing as the game has progressed has been my high point. I can't really say that I am sad to see it coming to an end because I am more than ready for OB.

To GGG: Thank you for the opportunity to participate in Closed Beta and I hope this takes off come OB.

Good Luck guys.
Some nice stories in there guys!

But, to those idiots who are laughing at the use of the acronym CBT... You do realize CBT means Closed Beta Test, right? And currently, we're in CBT. So I'm sorry if you couldn't figure that out, but most of us did.
